In order to avoid natural disasters involving the collapse of buildings or civil engineering structures, 01dB-Metravib, a specialist in vibration analysis, is expanding its existing range with tools offered by the Swiss company Syscom, particularly its MR2002 measurement solution.

01dB-Metravib, vibration analysis

When civil engineering meets a vibration analysis genius

On April 16, 1850, the Basse-Chaîne Bridge in Angers collapsed after a battalion crossed during a storm. While some blame the wind for breaking the chains, others theorize that the bridge resonated with the battalion's rhythmic footsteps.

This urban legend is, however, based on a real fact: the importance of vibration phenomena on civil engineering structures (road and rail infrastructure, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, etc.) and on all buildings in general.

To meet the monitoring needs of these phenomena, 01dB-Metravib, a specialist in vibro-acoustic techniques, has chosen to distribute, in addition to its existing range, equipment from the Swiss manufacturer SYSCOM and more specifically the MR2002 measurement system.

Robust and reliable, the MR2002 measuring station includes a recording unit and triaxial or monoaxial sensors (speed and acceleration) specially developed for civil engineering needs.

Vibrations are recorded continuously and/or at thresholds by the MR2002 station. The data can be analyzed by the View2002 software, in accordance with current regulations. As an option, it is possible to supplement the system with a communication box and

real-time alarms.

The MR2002/View2002 solution is a high-performance system, particularly useful for vibration analysis of sensitive sites (hospitals, precision laboratories, technology industry), control of building structures and civil engineering structures, vibration monitoring of the environment, characterization of soils in geotechnics, impact study of construction site works by drilling or driving sheet piles/piles, seismic analysis of civil engineering, etc.

Noise and vibration measurement

A company with solid assets towards promising markets

The key to 01dB-Metravib's success? Undoubtedly, its in-depth knowledge of vibro-acoustic techniques. Mastering vibrations and acoustics has an impact on many fields.

Machine maintenance, for example: this is how 01dB-Metravib developed the concept of condition-based maintenance. Based primarily on vibration analysis, the company is able to monitor machines and provide reliable and accurate diagnostics, preventing breakdowns or malfunctions.

Defense is also one of the major users of the products and techniques developed by 01dB-Metravib around acoustic phenomena: gunshot detection, intrusion detection, area surveillance, etc.

Finally, the environment is a privileged sector for the application of these technologies for noise management, nuisance control and sustainable development, with the implementation of innovative monitoring solutions aimed at preserving the living environment.
