In Lyon, Activ Travaux welcomes two new works brokers

In Lyon, the Activ Travaux team is expanding. The recent arrival of Philippe DUCROT and Alain CARRÉ brings the number of construction brokers working in the Lyon region to six.
In October, this hub of expertise dedicated to ensuring successful construction work will be strengthened by the addition of a seventh broker. Other business creators are expected to join the Activ Travaux network to provide consumers with local service throughout the department.

Construction broker: a new consumer reflex
"When two tradespeople have to work together, the work becomes more complicated," explains Alain CARRÉ, an Activ Travaux broker in the southeast of Lyon. "If the tradespeople come to you, that's already great... If they send their quotes within a month, that's wonderful. Three-quarters of the time, the price difference between two quotes is 30% to 50%."

It's no secret that many consumers are struggling with the inertia of the construction industry. Lack of understanding, lack of time, and lack of professionalism... the problem remains. How can you complete your work within a reasonable timeframe and with complete peace of mind?

A relatively new profession, construction brokerage has grown significantly over the past five years. Put off by the sheer scale of the task (selecting tradespeople, collecting quotes, scheduling appointments, and monitoring construction sites), individuals are increasingly turning to construction brokers.

Among the new consumer reflexes, the search on the Internet for these work facilitators who will reassure them, introduce them to hand-picked craftsmen with proven know-how, and supervise their project until its completion.

This service is also completely free and without obligation (since it's funded by the construction professionals carrying out the work). If the solutions presented don't suit them, consumers are under no obligation to enter into a contract with the construction broker. They are not required to pay any compensation.

A boon for craftsmen too
For tradespeople, only two out of ten quotes are completed, while a good construction broker converts 70 to 80% of requests into projects. Why?

Craftsmen are desperately short of time. Business relationships aren't their forte (and they generally don't have time to prospect). "When a craftsman makes 10 quotes, if he wins two of them, he's happy. In the meantime, he's wasted time and money," adds Alain CARRÉ.

The arrival of a business developer is a boon for craftspeople. This additional sales force identifies needs, arranges initial meetings, and qualifies projects for them. This work deserves a salary, and they compensate it fairly.

"We present the craftsmen with projects directly related to their skills, a defined budget, and completion deadlines. They are free to accept and commit to respecting all the project parameters," explains Philippe DUCROT.

Who are these work facilitators?

Alain C.ARRÉ has dual professional experience. He has worked in sales, particularly in the demanding field, prospecting by telephone and door-to-door. He also has experience in purchasing for the manufacturing and heating/air conditioning maintenance industries. He has managed large portfolios of service providers in the Rhône-Alpes region.

"Coming from the world of industry, I'm used to constantly improving my performance to meet customer demands. I wanted to create a service company with a direct connection to the construction industry. I chose a renowned national brand to benefit from expertise and support. Construction brokerage is a profession where honesty is essential. Today, my daily life is: what work, what budget, what timeframe, with which tradespeople?"

His training in logistics (bac + 4 Level 2) allows him to support SMEs which do not have a structured purchasing department, and which nevertheless have needs in terms of development, extension, and bringing their installations into compliance.

Its scope of intervention? Mainly the South East of Lyon (Saint Fons, Vénissieux, Saint Priest, Mions, Corbas, Saint Pierre de Chandieu, Chaponnay).

Born in Dardilly, Philippe DUCROT, a graduate of IDRAC in Lyon, went to work in Avignon. At Dim, as a lingerie negotiator forin mass distribution, then at Bose, a high-end hi-fi brand, as sales manager for the South East of France. Back in Lyon, he decided to invest in an activity that allows him to combine his passion for construction and his penchant for human and commercial relations: construction brokerage. According to him, it is "the job par excellence."

"I renovated the apartment I bought with my wife from top to bottom. It took me eight months. Then I was approached for a position as a network manager by a competitor to Activ Travaux. That's how I discovered renovation brokerage."

Thirsty for independence, Philippe decided to start his own company. Interested in the role of construction broker, he brought his vision to fruition with Activ Travaux. A brand that "unites its network around a strong ethic and human values, with the utmost respect for clients and construction professionals."

Philippe DUCROT operates in an area adjacent to Dardilly, from the North of Lyon to the extreme South East of Beaujolais (Les Monts d'Or and the Azergues valley).
