Vitocal 150-A and Vitocal 250-A: a new generation of air/water heat pumps

Alongside the new photovoltaic modules (Vitovolt 300-DG) unveiled at Artibat 2025, Viessmann presents, with the Vitocal 150-A et Vitocal 250-A, a new generation of heat pumps to particularly high yields. 

With this new offer and the introduction of models Modular (suitable for installations with buffer tank and multi-circuits) and hybrid, Viessmann has carried out significant rationalization work in order to achieve a reduced number of variants (6 vs. the previous 12 models). A simplification and restructuring which de facto reduces the complexity of the choice, but also facilitates planning, while guaranteeing greater flexibility in the combination of indoor (IDU) and outdoor (ODU) units. It should also be noted that if this simplified offer is distinguished by modular references et hybrid, it is also characterized by its speed and safety of implementation, thanks to the fastest to install and most user-friendly system ever developed by Viessmann.

Heat pumps Viessmann Vitocal 150-A et Vitocal 250-A are available from October 2025. They are suitable for both new construction projects and renovations, for heating circuits with radiators as well as for heated floors. 

It should be noted that Viessmann has designed this offer with particular care aimed at facilitating the work of installers while guaranteeing performance and reliability for users. Indeed, the emphasis is placed on the speed and security of implementation thanks to redesigned electrical and hydraulic interfaces for simpler, tool-free connection. Furthermore, accessibility is further improved, with the provision of a pivoting electronics box and an optimized hydraulic module. Viessmann has also equipped this new offering with a new purge system that accelerates commissioning, ultimately reducing installation time by up to 70 minutes per installation!

In addition, the outdoor units benefit from significant advances such as optimized frost management thanks to a new defrosting logic (ix16), or the reduction of noise emissions and the internal production of strategic components (inverter, evaporator). Developments that guarantee a better long-term reliability, a simplified maintenance thanks to the possibility of replacing refrigeration components, as well as reduced service costs.

With these improvements, the Vitocal 150-A and Vitocal 250-A heat pumps (European KEYMARK certification, Climat Protect ++ thanks to the R290 fluid and EHPA quality label) constitute the most quick to install and most installer-friendly never developed by Viessmann. A complete, sustainable and competitive solution, designed to meet market expectations as well as the practical needs of professionals.

Vitocal 150-A, which boast a 60% smaller footprint than comparable models, are available in a monobloc version with power outputs from 2,1 to 8,0 kW and from 2,6 to 14,9 kW. They are intended for new construction (with the compact outdoor units 04, 06 and 08) as well as for renovation (with more powerful outdoor units 10, 13 and 16 allowing a flow temperature of 70°C to be reached). The variant Vitocal 150-A Compact has an integrated 190 l DHW tank made of Ceraprotect enamelled steel and ensures pleasant room temperatures during the warm season thanks to the active cooling function. 

As for the economic variant Vitocal 150-A Modular, it is specially designed for systems with a heating water buffer tank and without an integrated expansion vessel. A version particularly recommended for systems with several heating circuits and a separate heating water buffer tank or for the use of cooling systems. 

If you feel like you want to take the Vitocal 150-A Modular et Compact claim performance coefficients (COP) in heating mode ranging from 4,7 to 5,2, their minimum external sound power level is only 51 dB(A). Finally, their energy efficiency class (heating) is A++ (outdoor units 04/06/08/10) and A+++ (outdoor units 10/13/16) for an energy efficiency (hs to W35) ranging from 175% to 199%.

The version Vitocal 150-A monobloc Hybrid (2,1 to 14,9 kW), is recommended for the modernization of existing installations with its flow temperature of 70° C and its external sound power levels ranging from 51 to 55 dB(A). It displays, depending on the model, a COP from 4,7 to 5,2, for energy classes from A++ to A+++.

Vitocal 250-A are available in models from 2,1 to 8,0 kW (for new construction with COPs of 4,9 to 5,1), from 2,6 to 18,5 kW (for retrofitting, COP of 5,3 to 5,5) and in a Hydrid version from 2,1 to 18,5 kW (also for retrofitting, COP of 4,9 to 5,5). While they all boast flow temperatures of 70°C, they are respectively in energy efficiency classes A++, A+++ and A++ to A+++. Sharing the same R290 refrigerant with the Vitocal 150-A, the Vitocal 250-A also has an identical global warming potential of 0,02.
