AirMaster®, an essential role

Particulate matter, also known as particulate pollution or PM, is a mixture of microscopic particles. The size of particles is directly related to their potential health risk: the smaller they are, the more potentially dangerous they are. This is the case with PM 10, inhalable particles with an aerodynamic diameter of up to 10 µm.

Following a study conducted by the German Asthma and Allergy Federation which demonstrated that the impact of fine dust can be significantly reduced by using carpet instead of hard floor covering, DESSO has developed AirMaster®.

Its patented technology has been specifically designed to capture and retain hazardous particulate matter. Based on tests conducted by the GUI (German Independent Testing Institute), AirMaster® has been shown to be 8 times more effective at capturing and retaining fine dust than hard flooring, and 4 times more effective than standard carpet solutions. Furthermore, thanks to AirMaster®, the concentration of particulate matter decreases much more quickly than with hard flooring. Certified by the GUI "gold" logo, AirMaster®'s efficiency in absorbing and retaining harmful fine dust exceeds that of hard floors by more than 80%.

AirMaster®, how it works ?

Using a specifically designed mechanical solution, the DESSO AirMaster® structure continuously captures fine dust without any chemical additives and eliminates any side effects. The upper loop made of fine yarn filaments (DESSO AirFiltersTM) captures and retains the smallest particles (<10µm). Larger dust particles are captured by the thicker yarns of the lower loop (DESSO DustCollectorsTM). Finally, the open ribbed structure of AirMaster® and the open spaces between the thick and fine yarns allow for optimal air circulation during vacuuming. This easy release of dust during cleaning ensures maximum regeneration of the carpet's filtering capacity.
