Bette creates her haute couture bathtub
Summary for decision-makers
Fabric-steel designer bathtub: a Bette innovation for well-being in the bathroom
Bette, in collaboration with designer Dominik Tesseraux, is launching an innovative bathtub combining vitreous enamel steel and quilted technical fabric. A world first, this concept blends comfort, high-end aesthetics, robustness, and ease of maintenance. The design incorporates a double backrest, an electronic central drain, and rests on feet for easy cleaning. This bathtub places the bathroom at the heart of well-being and the personalization of modern living.
With its brand-new fabric-covered bathtub concept, Bette, the German specialist in glazed steel, is taking bathroom comfort to the next level in a way that's as unique as it is surprising. This concept, developed in cooperation with the Tesseraux + Partenaires architectural firm, redefines the notion of comfort in the bathroom. Presented for the first time at the international design fair "Salone del Mobile" in Milan in April 2016, the haute couture bathtub has already won over a wide audience.
A surprising new concept adapted to the bathroom
Bette and designer Dominik Tesseraux (Tesseraux + Partner, Potsdam, Germany) have teamed up to explore a new world combining comfort and sensuality in the bathroom. Until now, this fabric has been used for outdoor furniture, but no one has ever dared to integrate this fabric with glazed steel in the bathroom. The interior of the glazed steel bathtub features a central drain (Bette Sensory, electronic sensor drain recommended) and a double backrest.
Dressed in a beautifully quilted textile by fabric specialist JAB Anstoetz, Bette unveils with its new haute couture bathtub, a unique concept with extremely thin 8 mm edges. This technical fiber is made of a waterproof, robust, hygienic and easy-care material.
A concept already carefully studied
Its solid stainless steel structure gives it an aesthetic and functional look. The cabinet rests on feet, making it raised and easy to clean under the bathtub.

The bathroom, a new place of relaxation where well-being takes precedence
Designer Dominik Tesseraux was also won over by the concept of the bathtub: "More than ever, the home is a haven of peace, far from daily stress. Time spent in the bathroom is of paramount importance, synonymous with well-being, rest, and relaxation. This is why our customers want to feel as comfortable in their bathroom as they do in their living room." "Echoing this trend, bathroom design is becoming increasingly refined and personalized, often incorporating objects from the living room or bedroom." With the fabric-covered bathtub, we take a new step and transform the cold and rather technical elegance of the object itself into a warm and friendly comfort that only fabric can provide. »
