BIM Bang at Rector
The BIM approach is accelerating at Rector. The manufacturer is drawing initial conclusions from its various initiatives promoting digital models: this technology is proving to be an essential accelerator for the construction of tomorrow, both operationally and commercially.
With a BIM object catalog in operation since 2015, Rector has been participating for three months in the "Virtual BIM Workshop," a unique experiment led by the Social Union for Housing aimed at testing the advantages and potential limitations of digital models. This project involves completely redesigning an existing housing project previously carried out without BIM in BIM.
For the Rector design office, already convinced by BIM, working in the model allows, during the pre-study phase, to carry out a precise pricing study taking into account all the specific features of the structure. During the sizing phase, the digital model allows the integration of pre-slab objects, thus avoiding re-entry, calculation errors and incorrect plan versions.
On the commercial front, Rector's investment in BIM is beginning to pay off. It has enabled the manufacturer to effectively support several public and private clients on projects involving digital models, including responding to calls for tenders that included them as a prerequisite in the specifications. Today, Rector's mastery of BIM technology represents a real commercial asset for meeting major challenges and meeting the demands of the most demanding clients.
