BOMAG supplies an exceptional compactor to Guadeloupe

In January, BOMAG, a leading company in the field of compaction, delivered an exceptional earthmoving machine to the SADG (Société Antillaise De Granulats) quarry in Deshaies, Guadeloupe : a BW 226 VARIOCONTROL single-drum compactor with polygonal drums. This machine, boasting outstanding performance and capable of tackling the most challenging situations, impresses at first glance with its spectacular dimensions and weight: 26 tons, 17 of which rests on the drum.

But the BOMAG BW 226 compactor stands out above all for its unparalleled efficiency. The machine's VARIOCONTROL system allows for automatic adjustment of the compaction amplitude based on soil rigidity. This system uses a directed impact (alternating linear motion) that can be oriented: the drum can therefore strike the material from vertical to horizontal, at six angles that can be adjusted manually or continuously, automatically, according to the soil's reaction. This machine, with its integrated bearing capacity measurement, has also proven capable of truly "analyzing" the soil in place and documenting the quality of the work performed – a real asset on this site. The polygonal drum , with its unique shape, consists of several flat surfaces that act with the same efficiency as vibratory plates. Combined with the VARIOCONTROL system, it gives the compactor twice the efficiency.

BOMAG not only delivered the equipment to the SADG quarry, but also provided its client with all its expertise: advice after visiting the site and integrating the issues encountered, guidance towards "non-standard" equipment, support during the commissioning of the compactor, recommendations concerning the soils and the atypical context of the site.

BOMAG therefore had the opportunity to once again demonstrate its strength of proposal and responsiveness, as well as its adaptation to the most specific circumstances, to offer an exceptional solution with extraordinary performance.
