New heating and domestic hot water network for a cheese dairy in Haute-Savoie

The owners of a new 850 m² cheese dairy with a stable, located in Morzine (Haute-Savoie), used Viega crimping systems for their heating and domestic hot water network.

Located at an altitude of 1800 meters, in an alpine pasture, on the road to Avoriaz, The Seraussaix Farm was born from the association of three farming enthusiasts. Gathered together in a Joint Agricultural Farming Group (GAEC), Gilles, Sébastien, and Pierre-Marie form a trio of owners, each with their own specialties. Fodder and mechanics for Gilles, livestock for Sébastien, and cheese processing for Pierre-Marie.

Work to create a cheese dairy and a stable

The three owners invested in a new 500 m² stable and a cheese dairy with a 350 m² cellar and boiler room. For this project, Viega supplied approximately 1500 meters of pipes with diameters ranging from 15 to 54 millimeters and approximately 1200 press fittings.

Morzine installer Sébastien Tagand selected the crimping systems Profipress, Profipress G, Sanpress InoxPrestabo et Megapress for the boiler room, as well as the heating of the stable and the cheese dairy, with the installation of fittings with a diameter of 15 to 54 millimeters. He opted for the system Sanpress Inox for water and compressed air supply. Available in various diameters from 12 to 108 millimeters, the tube Sanpress Inox, connected to drinking water networks or associated with stainless steel or bronze fittings, meets the highest hygiene requirements.

The craftsman equipped the cheese dairy with a 70 kW gas boiler to heat the cheese dairy and the farm and produce the hot water needed to produce dairy products. He used the Profipress range of copper press fittings, which offer numerous advantages, such as rapid installation.

« This system saves time on the construction site, thanks to its rapid implementation. Another advantage is that there is no need for a flame. Therefore, there is no need for a fire permit and there is no risk of fire. ", the installer is pleased to say.

Heating the walls in the ripening cellar

The installer also used the polybutylene (PB) pipe system  Fonterra to maintain a constant temperature in the ripening cellar.

The choice of this system was dictated by the humidity problem (90% humidity and the acidity of milk and salt), hence the solution chosen for maintaining the temperature.
