EXCELLENT ENERGY ABSORPTION PERFORMANCE
Thanks to its new synthetic macro-fiber, CHRYSO allows professionals to obtain concrete with high energy absorption capacities, even with low quantities of fibers. In fact, a dosage of only 4 kg/m3 of CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 is sufficient for the shotcrete to reach the minimum energy absorption values determined by the European recommendation of EFNARC (i.e. 500 joules) and the international standard
ASTM C 1550 (or 200 joules).

Indicative dosage CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 Classification resistance EFNARC (on plate) ASTM C1550 indicative equivalent (on round plate)
4 kg/m3 a 500 Joules 200 Joules
5 kg/m3 b 700 Joules 280 Joules
7 kg/m3 c 1000 Joules 400 Joules

SHOTCONCRETE WITH SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED PROPERTIES
Thanks to its innovative shape and composition, CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 is distributed evenly in the concrete, forming a multidirectional reinforcement network and greatly improving the mechanical performance of the concrete. On the one hand, CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 is made from a mixture of raw materials with high mechanical strength, on the other hand, the notched surface and the rigidity of the macro-fibres promote anchoring in the concrete matrix. Thus, the new structural fibre of CHRYSO improves the strength properties of shotcrete: ductility after cracking and toughness, better resistance to impacts, fatigue, shrinkage cracking and segregation.

AN EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO METAL FIBER
The CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 structural synthetic fiber represents an effective solution as a replacement for traditional metal fibers.

  • Significant reduction in rebound rate: when spraying concrete, the rebound phenomenon on the surface of the support generates a loss of fibers and concrete, resulting in additional reprocessing costs. The use of CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 significantly reduces the rebound rate.
  • Reduced dosage and consumption: the dosage required with CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 is lower than with conventional metal fibers. Depending on the construction site and the type of concrete, the quantity of fibers per m3 can be significantly reduced (by a factor of 3 to 7), without changing performance.
  • Low wear on equipment: due to their non-abrasive nature, the new synthetic fibers limit wear on the equipment used during projection.
  • No risk of surface corrosion: CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 avoids the risk of surface corrosion of concrete, unlike metal fibers.
  • Reduced strain: for professionals, CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 helps reduce the handling effort associated with installing welded mesh or introducing metal fibers.
  • Speed of execution of underground works: with a synthetic fiber, the risks of perforation of waterproofing films in underground projects are eliminated, which makes it possible to accelerate the completion of construction sites while guaranteeing the durability of the works.

EASIER IMPLEMENTATION WITH CHRYSO®FIBERDOSE
To facilitate the use of CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50, CHRYSO offers CHRYSO®Fiberdose, a tool designed for automatic dosing of the required product level, directly on site. Projection is carried out accurately, quickly and safely. CHRYSO®Fibre Gunita 50 can also be used conventionally with a mixer or concrete mixer truck.
