High efficiency and considerable time savings on construction sites

Paved landscaping plays a prominent role in urban landscapes. They meet the needs of cities and towns in a variety of situations, including pedestrian walkways, traffic routes, parks, gardens, and esplanades. They are also essential for private projects such as hotels and amusement parks.

The successes achieved in numerous projects around the world, such as the September 11th memorial "Ground Zero" in New York, the major restoration project in the old town of Montreal or the Munich airport in Germany, have allowed Techniseal to acquire unique expertise in the development of paved areas. Techniseal has been supporting public works professionals for many years, and continues to develop products that improve their working conditions while meeting the highest performance requirements.

In 2017, Techniseal launched CityPro NextGel™: a new high-tech sand that revolutionizes the grouting of paving stones and slabs in urban projects, both new and renovated. Derived from Techniseal's unique and recognized expertise, this new grouting sand meets very rigorous specifications that allow for strong and durable joints on both trafficked (max. 30 km/h) and non-trafficked roads.

A blend of calibrated sand and binder, this new Techniseal product designed for public works ensures low-dust application, with no whitish film, waste, or loss, saving considerable time and money. In addition, by limiting weed growth and preventing erosion, it helps keep public spaces clean and aesthetically pleasing.

Sand for paving joints

Paved and cobbled surfaces remain stable longer

Ready to use and specially formulated for grouting slabs and paving stones laid on soft ground (sand or stabilized sand), the new CityPro® NextGel™ Techniseal slab and paving joint sand can be used for new installations, as a replacement for conventional sand joints or for renovations.

High-performance, it adheres durably to the walls of materials without ever contracting. It effectively delays the appearance of moss, prevents weed growth and insect invasion, and resists erosion caused by wind, frost, water, and cleaning. Finally, it remains perfectly flexible, to better resist ground movement and bursting.

With all these advantages, the new CityPro® NextGel™ completely revolutionizes the installation of slabs and paving stones on construction sites, making it much faster and more economical for investors and allowing structures to be much more resistant over time.

Products adapted to the nature of the developments

CityPro® NextGel™ is available in 2 versions.

The first CP 500 is specific to concrete paving stones with lugs (on roads with or without traffic).

The second CP 1000 is also compatible for concrete pavers with lugs but is also suitable for laying large slabs, natural stone and pavers without lugs on non-trafficed roads.

And, to blend perfectly with the color of the slabs and pavers, CityPro® NextGel™ is available in gray or granite color.

Working comfort for installers

The new CityPro® NextGelTM Techniseal technology transforms the particles in the paving joint, making them more homogeneous and heavier. This specificity allows us to benefit from a less volatile product containing very little dust*. This makes installation faster and more pleasant, the site cleaner and the installer's working environment improved.
*without additive dust, only some natural sand dust remains.

Savings on construction sites

Furthermore, traditional polymeric sand technologies make reusing leftover sand after sweeping unreliable. Up to two bags can be wasted on a typical 100 m² installation. This is because the fine particles separate from the mix during sweeping. CityPro® NextGel™ technology solves this problem by generating a homogeneous mixture of particles, thus preserving the full integrity of the product. Leftover sand can therefore be reused elsewhere on the site or for future projects. The result: no product waste, greater savings.

Without whitish veil

The new CityPro® NextGel™ Techniseal paving joint won't stain slabs and pavers. Its high-tech sand particles literally glide across the surface, making sweeping exceptionally easy and quick. It also eliminates the penetration of additive particles into the capillary pores of the concrete, the main cause of the unsightly white haze that stains pavers and slabs.

Twice faster to wet

The high homogeneity of the new CityPro® NextGel™ jointing sand for slabs and pavers allows water to penetrate much more easily to the bottom of the joints. Furthermore, the interaction of the particles with the water is uniform throughout the entire depth of the joint. This results in wetting that is 50% faster, preventing water waste and saving considerable time during installation.

Note

The design of the structure (foundation, base, bedding, slope to facilitate the evacuation of surface water, drainage, etc.) must be carried out in accordance with current standards. The bedding should preferably be made of a closed grain size of 0/4 mm or 0/6,3 mm.

The installation of CityPro® NextGel™ Techniseal on an open granulometry bed of type 2/4 or 4/6,3 can only be considered between paving stones with a minimum thickness of 8 cm.

Minimum joint width: 4 mm
Maximum joint width: 1,5 cm; intersections can be slightly wider.
Minimum thickness required: 8 cm
Joint depth (A): Fill the joints well with jointing sand to the full depth of the slab or paving stone.

Consumption: 25 kg covers approximately 4 m2. The quantity required will depend on the shape and size of the slabs and paving stones, as well as the width and depth of the joints.
