DENY FONTAINE at the University of Toulon

 A true city within a city, the University of South Toulon - Var occupies a 37-hectare site on which 38 buildings are built, housing administrative services, classrooms, laboratories, and technical departments. The four other sites of La Garde, Saint-Raphaël, La Valette, and Draguignan are attached to Toulon.

Under the responsibility of Mr. Régis Capobianco, Director of Technical Services, the management of staff flows has been completely overhauled in order to secure various administrative or sensitive premises, some of which are equipped with valuable equipment, and to grant access authorizations to a large number of people received each day on the University sites.

In fact, in addition to the 10.000 students welcomed, the sites accommodate 500 teachers, researchers and teacher-researchers, and more than 280 positions for administrative engineers, technicians and service and health workers.

The previous installation already carried out by DENY FONTAINE on the various sites required an upgrade taking into account the technical and economic imperatives imposed by Mr. Régis Capobianco. He wanted a simple but effective solution, with great flexibility to adapt to the constraints of University life (locations, timetables, holidays, validity period of rights, etc.), guaranteeing inexpensive, maintenance-free access rights support, in wireless mode, compatible with other existing media such as electronic payment cards.

In response to the call for tenders, DENY FONTAINE recommended the installation of Optimal Lock standalone electronic cylinders on the relevant exits, the supply of dedicated software, the commissioning of a control terminal to update the authorizations entered in the transponder and to retrieve access rights, and the supply of badges in key ring or bank card format.

Today, more than 400 Optimal Lock cylinders installed perfectly meet the imposed directives and the University's Technical Department notes with satisfaction the relevance of the solutions provided which ensure perfect homogeneity of management and control tools, limit key loss, and prevent any attempted theft without breaking and entering.

In addition, the flexibility of installation and management of locking systems by University staff makes it possible to envisage easier security measures during the construction of other buildings, whether they are built on the Toulon site or on the annex sites, some of which are more than 60 kilometers away.
