DESSO wins the Red Dot Product Design Award for its “Visions Of” range from the Patterns@Play collection

 European carpet manufacturer Deso has received the Red Dot Product Design Award for its "Visions of" carpet line from the Patterns@Play collection. Every year, during this prestigious global design competition, the Red Dot, a quality label, recognizes products for their aesthetic shapes and timeless trends.

For this new edition, 1.800 manufacturers and designers from 58 different countries participated in this competition, during which, in Essen, Germany, a jury composed of 30 international experts tested and evaluated 4.515 products. Among them, the "Visions Of" carpet tile series by desso caught the attention of the jury, who appreciated its elaborate and innovative design.

An international collaboration
Desso's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Alexander Collot d'Escury, explains: " From both an aesthetic and technical perspective, developing this product line was a real challenge. The high level of expertise of our teams in both areas, as well as their close collaboration with a number of interior designers operating within the Circles of Architects®  have borne fruit.
Winning this award, which we are very proud of, is a true testament to their efforts. It represents our ambition to be the world leader in carpet design by setting trends in the field of flooring. ».

The award will be presented at the Red Dot Gala on July 2.

A combination of techniques
Marloes Jongen, designer at Desso, and Mark de Negro, from the technical development department, comment: “ Visions of is a surprising statement on the ground. She is frank, without being dominant. As a team, we have developed a unique combination of techniques, brought together in an unusual way. We were thus able to create a dimension remarkable stratification, by which the perception of the ground changes depending on the viewing angle ».

The "Visions of" range, a unique symbiosis of patented technology and unprecedented design, includes three different products with unexpected designs. "Visions of Flowers" reveals a pronounced floral motif, integrated into the design of the carpet tiles. A strikingly abstract pattern gives "Visions of Shards" its distinctive appearance. "Visions of Lines" is inspired by linear elements in monumental architectural design.
