DuPont Protection Solutions develops the Tyvek® 2 HV 1-in-500 suit in partnership with SNCF

Near the Limoges Bénédictins station (87), 150 SNCF employees work at the Limousin TER maintenance technical center. To ensure their safety, DuPont Protections Solutions, in close collaboration with the SNCF, has developed the Tyvek® 500 HV suit, a protective garment combining chemical barrier and high visibility.

This combination of types 5 and 6 meets several essential criteria for outdoor and workshop work by SNCF maintenance agents:

• high visibility to prevent railway risks, thanks to a fluorescent orange color and silver-grey retro-reflective strips,
• a chemical barrier against many low-concentration aqueous inorganic chemicals (diesel, oil, coolant, etc.) and against small hazardous particles,
• protection against exposure to biological risks, particularly for the inspection of trains that have struck animals or people,
• a hoodless design so as not to obstruct the hearing of the agents and allow them to hear the trains arriving.
