This classification makes EDILTECO systems the best on the market in fire resistance.

In April 2016, manufacturers in the ITE sector – represented by the three unions AFIPEB for EPS, SIPEV for organic coatings and SNMI for hydraulic mortars – announced conclusive tests, carried out according to the LEPIR 3 protocol, on the good fire behavior of facades coated with a coating on EPS.
These tests made it possible to establish the recommendation guide “Fire protection of concrete or masonry facades coated with external thermal insulation systems by coating on expanded polystyrene (ETICS-PSE)”, validated by EFECTIS and CREPIM.

It allows the construction provisions defined in particular in paragraphs 5.1 and 5.4 of Technical Instruction 249 of 2010 to be specified.

In terms of fire safety, reaction to fire and fire resistance are two very important characteristics.
specific. Reaction to fire is the representation of a material as fuel for fire (combustibility,
flammability), defined by the Order of November 21, 2002; whereas fire resistance is the time
during which the construction element will limit the spread of fire.

The tests carried out by CSTB on ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems from Edilteco support the good results of exterior thermal insulation systems by coating on expanded polystyrene.

Indeed, these systems have been validated and have obtained the certificate of conformity issued by this same technical center, in accordance with paragraph 3.3 of the recommendation guide “Fire protection of concrete or masonry facades coated with external thermal insulation systems by coating on expanded polystyrene (ETICS-PSE) ".
The ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems, belonging to the ETICS family, have been tested on their reaction to fire according to the procedures of European standard NF EN 13501-1 + A1: 2013 and classified B - s1, d0.

This classification makes EDILTECO systems the best on the market in fire resistance.

This classification validates the implementation of the ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems for all types of installation (Glued, Wedged/Dowelled and mechanically fixed on profile) on wooden supports and on masonry supports,
for all Edilteco polystyrenes and those on the market, for establishments receiving the public (ERP) of the 1st group from R+2, as well as residential buildings of the 1st to the 4th families.

The tests were carried out on the basis of multiple characteristics: depending on the finishes, thicknesses and glues, and in different configurations.
All finishes, base coat, mesh, primer coats, bonding and setting products,
associated with the implementation of the ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems, have been approved.

More specifically, the ranking is valid for the following parameters:
- Euroclass E flame-retardant expanded polystyrene insulation.
- A range of nominal polystyrene thicknesses from 40 to 300 mm.
- A nominal density of polystyrene ≤ 19,5 kg/m³.
- Bonding and wedging products for ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems.
- The base layer, meshes and impression layers of the ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems.
- The finishes of the ECAP® and EDIL-Therm® PSE systems.

Because the development of External Thermal Insulation, for new buildings and for existing buildings to be renovated, requires increasingly high-performance products, Edilteco is committed to designing latest generation products and guarantees consistent quality for its products so that they are equipped with the highest performance.
