The Trade Trophies, organized by INFOPRO, recognize the best initiatives and innovations in the building distribution sector. The 13th edition of the awards took place entirely online, and the 2020 winners were announced on December 15. CHAPE XXs®, an EDILTECO brand, was recognized at the 2020 Trade Trophies in the Renovation category. CHAPE XXs® is a lightweight alternative to traditional screeds, weighing half the weight of traditional screeds.

A LIGHTWEIGHT AND VERSATILE SCREED

An innovative solution, LA CHAPE XXs® is ready to use and compatible with all floor coverings. This lightweight, fiber-reinforced screed is designed to improve the sound reduction of all floor coverings. Thanks to its lightness, LA CHAPE XXs® does not overload structures. This lightness does not come at the expense of high quality robustness: fiber-reinforced, it has high mechanical properties in compliance with NF EN 13813. It owes its lightness to the expanded virgin polystyrene beads coated with the EIA additive (Diameter 2 – 3 mm). The density of the mixture – 1200 kg/m3 – is twice as light as a traditional screed and allows a minimum application thickness of 1 cm (in installation
adherent on concrete), 2 cm (in loose installation on wood), 5 cm on SCAM ≤ 0,5 cm including beyond any element embedded in LA CHAPE XXs® (ducts, pipes, etc.).

OPTIMAL SOUND INSULATION

Designed for indoor and outdoor applications, LA CHAPE XXs® can be used to insulate and acoustically treat various types of substrates in apartment buildings and single-family homes. Its sound-reduction performance allows for effective absorption of impact noise (heels, falling objects, moving furniture, etc.).

EASIER IMPLEMENTATION

LA CHAPE XXs® is very easy to apply, reducing installation times. This simplification is due to the fact that LA CHAPE XXs® is perfectly pumpable over long distances and at great heights. Its foamy consistency allows for efficient application during leveling and perfect flatness.

Once installed, LA CHAPE XXs® is ready to receive directly glued tiles or other coverings. 24 hours are enough to install a ceramic covering, 36 hours for a flexible and textile floor on leveling compound and 48 hours for a floating parquet floor. For the applicator, this means additional time savings in pouring the screed, the assurance of a perfectly smooth and uniform finish for the floors and the possibility of multiple uses.
