FOAMGLAS® - high-performance thermal insulation for solar roofs

With this law, thermal regulations specifically encourage building professionals to install solar roofs, both in new and renovated buildings. The waterproofing and thermal insulation of these new, increasingly popular energy-producing roofs require suitable materials.

The Energy and Climate Act of November 8, 2019 sets out the terms of French climate and energy policy in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

FOAMGLAS® rigid glass foam is the ideal solution because it overcomes the constraints associated with thermally insulated and waterproofed solar roofs with bituminous membranes: often heavy installations, frequent maintenance, durability, etc.).

FOAMGLAS®, the effective and consistent solution

FOAMGLAS® rigid glass foam insulation has many advantages:

• The only insulation able to offer a guarantee similar to or superior to the lifespan of more than 20 years of solar processes.

• The combination of different materials makes it possible to create a coherent system in terms of guarantee (minimum 20 years), to avoid any infiltration claim management during the operating period and to ensure the profitability of the investment.

In risk analysis, FOAMGLAS® offers unparalleled security:

• If the waterproofing is pierced in the current part, water cannot diffuse into the roof, because the layer of insulation is waterproof,

• If a waterproofing upstand is weak for various reasons and lets water through, the FOAMGLAS®, glued to the vertical part of the acroterion, blocks the water.

This way the mess remains on the surface, without infiltration, and will be repaired during the annual roof maintenance.

FOAMGLAS® compact roofing, the preferred solution

After a comprehensive study, the FOAMGLAS® Compact Roof Solution has proven to be the best insulating material.

In the event of significant thermal stress, FOAMGLAS® T3+ offers a solution with a lambda of 0,036 W/m2.K (i.e. an Rth = 5 for 18 cm of thickness).

If the compressive strength constraint proves to be very restrictive, FOAMGLAS® F offers a solution with a compressive strength of 1 kPa (i.e. 600 t./m160).

Both FOAMGLAS® T3+ and FOAMGLAS® F materials are non-combustible, 66% recycled and guaranteed for 25 years.
