Lignotrend wins international design award for its 3D acoustic panel made of real wood
The new real wood acoustic panel Ligno Acoustique nature:3D has received the international design award Focus Open 2020. Lignotrend was awarded gold, the highest level for its outstanding design quality. Focus Open, the state award of the Design Center Baden-Württemberg, annually assesses the state of the art in design, innovation, and sustainability worldwide. Due to its non-commercial nature, it offers companies the opportunity to measure their innovations against global competition without prior financial commitment.
Ligno Acoustic nature:3D – Well-being for the eyes and ears
A unique design, composed of blades of different heights and widths, gives the Ligno Acoustic nature:3D An original and dynamic effect. The vitality of a natural material like wood is manifested in a completely new way. Thanks to the skillful arrangement of its knot-free oak or white fir slats and its large elements with a width of 62,5 cm, the repetition of the slat patterns is not noticeable. The filigree wood surfaces have a particularly natural, uniform and homogeneous appearance. They allow the implementation of prestigious interior architecture, equipped with effective sound absorption.
The manufacturer's glued laminated timber load-bearing building elements achieve αW absorption values of up to 0,70 and 0,90 for acoustic cladding. The sound-absorbing layer and the effective profile of the elements explain these values.
Lignotrend panels can achieve virtually any defined indoor acoustics goal, such as reducing noise or reverberation levels and improving speech intelligibility. Due to their unique visual appearance, the manufacturer was able to obtain copyright protection against copying as a "registered design."
Like all Lignotrend products, Ligno Acoustic nature: 3 D comes from PEFC-certified production, made entirely from mature wood and controlled according to the strict eco-construction criteria of “natureplus”.
"The idea of joining wooden slats side by side may seem simple enough at first glance. But if you look more closely, you notice the refinement of this simple structure. The rooms benefit from the real wood panels not only acoustically, but also aesthetically. ", concluded the jury.
Lignotrend will be present at the Architect@Work trade fair from September 24 to 25, 2020 in Paris (Paris Event Center, stand 170)
