Managing up to 20 cranes, a performance possible with SMIE
Thanks to SMIE's SGC240 supervisor-recorder, it is now possible to monitor and record information from up to 20 cranes, whether flat or luffing. With this solution, site managers can avoid any risk of congestion or collisions and better plan their teams' storage and work areas.

SGC240, new functionality to optimize construction site organization
SMIE's SGC240, a unique supervisor/recorder on the market, is a product compatible with SMIE's anti-collision systems, both radio and wired, which can track and record up to 20 cranes, distinguishing between flat-boom cranes and luffing-boom cranes.
The SGC240 displays real-time information on machine positions, shunting, movement cuts due to interference, crane activation or deactivation and possible internal system faults.
To optimize the organization of construction sites and increase their productivity, SMIE is extending the functionalities of the SGC240.
Mapping as a productivity tool
On the JDL, SMIE will present the new functionality integrated into the SGC240: mapping.
This feature allows for the optimization of crane operations and site organization by visualizing high-traffic areas. It is then possible to prevent the risk of congestion, better plan work between teams, and even reposition equipment storage areas on the site.
This involves recording the position of the machine hook every 5 seconds (configurable) in order to be able to display the machine passage points (passage points, traced paths or presence densities) on the site map through a graphic visualization.
The display of each machine is independent and can be activated or not.
The user can also select any time range within the last 7 days. Access to a configuration page allows you to choose which machines to display and the period to study.
All the above events are recorded in a database with a time stamp, and the file outputs can be exported to Microsoft® Excel. For increased security, access to this database is selective and password-protected.
The SGC240 represents the most advanced in terms of supervision, making it an excellent tool for managing tower crane safety.
