Automatic lighting and security management thanks to the new Compact Passimo presence detector

Thanks to its strictly defined rectangular detection zone, it prevents unnecessary triggering of neighboring lighting if a person or machine passes through an area close to the detection zone. Developed by Theben to optimize energy performance related to lighting, the Compact Passimo is particularly suitable for passage areas in warehouses, stockrooms, commercial buildings (hospitals, offices, libraries, etc.) and even condominiums. A second "Presence" contact is dedicated to security applications and monitoring of employees and visitors in the premises. The Compact Passimo is available in 3 colors (white, black and silver), each version also being available in a KNX version.

A CLEAR DELIMITATION OF THE DETECTION ZONE
The Compact Passimo has been designed to precisely delineate a rectangular detection zone, located vertically below the device. When placed at a ceiling height of 3,5 m, this zone is 15 m long and 5 m wide. The Compact Passimo thus prevents unnecessary switching when a person or vehicle passes near the aisles and corridors of the detection zone: a reliable way to avoid unnecessary lighting and therefore reduce energy consumption.

AUTOMATIC LIGHTING CONTROL
Automatic lighting management is based on presence and brightness. Thanks to its mixed light measurement device, it is suitable for controlling all types of lamps: fluorescent (FL/PL), compact fluorescent, halogen, incandescent and LED. For greater convenience, settings such as the brightness threshold and time delay can be adjusted either directly on the device or via the QuickSet plus remote control.
Semi-automatic operation is also possible. In this case, the lighting is activated manually (by push button), and then deactivated automatically. Finally, the "Pulse" function is used to control a staircase timer.

SURVEILLANCE AS A SECURITY TOOL
The Compact Passimo can also be used to improve premises surveillance and security. In addition to the "Lighting" switching output, the device is equipped with a "Presence" switching output. This second channel allows for continuous presence detection in the premises, regardless of brightness. It is even possible to reduce the switching sensitivity so that the presence of an intruder is signaled with greater certainty.

MASTER-SLAVE AND MASTER-MASTER ASSEMBLIES
Up to 10 detectors can be connected in parallel to extend the detection area, either in Master-Slave or Master-Master mode. In the first case, each Compact Office can be connected as a Master or Slave. In the second, each Master controls its group of luminaires according to its own brightness measurement, and presence is detected jointly by all detectors.
