Omerin Group: Two functions for the PROFILAST cable

The latest addition to the range of submersible cables from the Omerin group, a world leader in the manufacture of specialty wires and cables, the PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Porteur cable revolutionizes the conditions of use for construction site pumps.

Until now, it was not recommended to move a construction site pump using its power cable, as this could damage the electrical connection and render the pump unusable. ® Today, this is possible thanks to the PROFIPLAST PBS-USE + Carrier cable! OMERIN polycable division combines an electrical power cable and a stainless steel carrier in a single cable.

This new cable provides power to construction site pumps, and the stainless steel carrier allows the pump to be carried or moved by cable. A major innovation for manufacturers and users of submersible pumps.

The PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Carrier, the ideal cable for construction site pumps

After several years of research and testing, the PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Carrier cable was born: an electrical cable reinforced by an integrated stainless steel carrier.

No more chains attached to the pump to move it. This simple and effective system allows you to carry or pull the pump by the power cable without any risk of electrical damage. On construction sites,

90% of pump breakdowns are due to a broken power cord. Awkwardly handled, cables are often used to carry and move the pump to save time. But not designed to withstand such traction, the electrical connections give way under the weight of the pump. Faced with this observation, the OMERIN group's R&D department decided to develop a solution adapted to the conditions

for use of construction site pumps. The cable includes the power cables for the pump motor and even the hypsotherm, as well as the integrated stainless steel carrier. This is protected by a sheath to insulate it from other electrical wires to prevent damage. This stainless steel carrier is sized for pumps ranging from 25kg to 500kg.

A cable suitable for wastewater

Ideal for powering submersible pumps for the collection, pre-treatment, treatment and evacuation of wastewater, the PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Porteur cable is a technical alternative to the H07RN-F. It is a so-called submersible electrical cable, a cable designed and manufactured to withstand permanent immersion in water.

Another special feature of the PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Carrier is that it is suitable for wastewater applications. The sheath of this cable is more resistant than a conventional sheath. It is resistant to high pH levels, leachates, and sewage treatment products. This cable also benefits from enhanced mechanical strength.

OMERIN polycable division, expertise in submerged cables

The new PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Carrier cable is part of the PROFIPLAST® PBS range of electrical cables. The Omerin Group has been developing this range for over 20 years, specifically designed for immersion or submersion in all types of liquids (from fresh water to salt water).

A direct competitor to RRF and RNF rubber cables, PBS cables are excellent technical alternatives, offering extreme ease of implementation (great flexibility, watertightness) for one of the most competitive quality/price ratios on the market.

A market with strong potential

Launched in 2011 in the test phase, the PROFIPLAST® PBS-USE + Carrier cable has already attracted three European construction pump manufacturers who have decided to equip their products with this new system. OMERIN polycable division, convinced of the potential of this new cable, is targeting a 10% increase in turnover for this product over the next 4 years. The PROFIPLAST® PBS range currently accounts for 15% of OMERIN polycable division's total turnover.
