HERESS - Hot air recovery unit for wood stoves
Better distributed heat and a reduced heating bill
In France, stoves represent 75% of the wood-burning heating appliance market, and across the market as a whole, log-burning appliances predominate with 54% of sales in 2019*. Less polluting, this heating method is the most economical on the market because the price of wood remains stable unlike other energy sources (oil, electricity, gas, etc.). To optimize the performance and efficiency of the wood stove, and thus benefit from the heat produced in all the main rooms of the house, and not just in the living room, the appliance can be equipped with a hot air distribution system.
For over 30 years, DMO has been designing and marketing innovative solutions for chimney sweeping, air treatment and hot air distribution. To effectively optimize the efficiency of your wood-burning stove and save money on your heating bill, DMO offers the Heress hot air recovery system. Made in France, the Heress system is easy to install and, when combined with a hot air unit, redistributes heat evenly throughout your home, ensuring greater comfort for your occupants.
With the Heress system, heating with wood is even more economical.

HERESS
Heress - Air recuperator for wood stove: how does it work?
Heress is a finned casing that sits on top of the flue and through which ambient air circulates. The fins optimize heat recovery. As the air rises along the flue wall, it heats up. The hot air then passes into the adjustable, ceiling-mounted plenum, which is connected by a duct to DMO's hot air unit.
Installed in the attic, this box will pulse and redistribute hot air in a network of ducts to the supply vents located in the living rooms.
A system that optimizes the stove's performance
The energy recovered by the DMO Heress system provides additional heating, up to 2000 W*, in the main rooms served by the distribution network.
The black Heress system blends seamlessly into the flue and doesn't detract from the interior design. Its installation requires no modification to the existing system. It is available in a 200 mm diameter.
* Distributed over 2 to 8 rooms. Tested with the 2/8 vent hot air unit.

HOT AIR UNIT 400 M3/H
Hot air recovery box: for greater comfort
The 400 m3/h hot air unit from DMO ensures the recovery and diffusion of calories from the stove in all the main rooms of the home where the supply vents are located.
It is installed in the attic, connected by suction to the Heress plenum and by distribution (or by blowing, insufflation) to a network of ducts.
A system that reduces heating bills
Easy to install, the 400 m3/h hot air unit from DMO homogenizes the temperature in the house to ensure the well-being of its occupants via hot air ventilation. It is equipped with a thermostat that allows the engine to start as soon as the temperature reaches 45°C at the sensor. It stops as soon as the temperature drops back to 35°C so as not to diffuse lukewarm air into the rooms. The warm air is conveyed through a network of insulated ducts to be redistributed to the rooms of the home (bedroom, office, etc.).
By optimizing the thermal performance of the wood stove, the hot air unit allows substantial heating savings to be made.
The 400 m3/h hot air unit is suitable for a duct network of up to 25 m with 3 to 5 adjustable directional supply vents.
With a flow rate of 400 m3/h, it is suitable for a house up to 100 m2.
The HOT AIR range includes the 550 m3/h hot air unit and the RUBIS RAC. The latter is equipped with a housing that filters the hot air before it is distributed into the rooms, ensuring good indoor air quality. It is very quiet and has a mobile radiofrequency room thermostat.
The 400 m3/h hot air kit includes:
1 RAC box 400 m3/h
3 adjustable directional insufflation vents
1 cross Ø 125 mm
1 roll of adhesive aluminum tape, 10 m long
11 hose clamps
Flow rate: 400 m3/hour max.
Power consumption: 90 W max.
Recommended retail price: 249 euros including tax
