Louineau, designer and manufacturer of exterior joinery implementation solutions, continues its path of innovation. Objective? To anticipate market developments and respond to new needs, even the most specific. 

On the occasion of its participation in Batimat, Louineau unveils PrecHab Wood roller shutter, an innovative solution co-developed with Soprofen, designer and manufacturer of roller shutters.

This new feature allows roller shutters to be integrated as aesthetically as possible into a wooden construction in order to improve watertightness and enhance the acoustic comfort of the building.

With the PrecHab Wood roller shutter, Louineau is a candidate for the 2019 Batimat Innovation Trophies. 

Louineau & Soprofen take action to optimize wooden constructions 

Construction industry stakeholders are unanimous: Today, timber-frame construction sites are faced with a sealing constraint. Added to this is an aesthetic shortcoming: the box and its rails are visible on the facade, thus leading to a loss of design level and glazing clarity.

Together, Louineau and Soprofen offer a single-block solution to architects, enabling the two issues raised to be resolved (waterproofing and aesthetics)

To achieve this, Louineau collaborated with the Soprofen design office. From there, the PrecHab Wood roller shutter prototype was born.

THE PRECHAB WOOD ROLLER SHUTTER

An aesthetically pleasing “ready-to-install” geometry solution, serving waterproofing and acoustics 

The PrecHab Wood roller shutter is a single-piece woodwork cladding solution, suitable for timber-frame constructions. 

This is the first pre-frame for wooden constructions with coating on insulation, ATEC (Under Technical Advice) and in several ATEX (Technical Experimental Assessment). 

With its unique features, PrecHab Wood allows roller shutters to be directly integrated into wooden constructions. Chests and rails are invisible, ensuring a better architectural rendering. 

This new concept doubles the waterproofing from the wooden construction table: the PrecHab Wood roller shutter is mechanically welded, thus optimizing the seal between the joinery and the construction support. 

The acoustic comfort of the inhabitant increases thanks to an anti-vibration membrane, installed in the workshop, limiting impact noise from rain and wind. 

This solution is made from 15/10ths thick steel, promoting the recyclable part of the building and allowing it to be included in the C+D fire distance calculation. Louineau and Soprofen have also thought about maintenance: there is a removable underside, allowing easy and quick access. 

With its exemplary technical characteristics, this innovation is already attracting players in the timber construction industry. The new product is also being used on the construction site of the bio-sourced, 9-story timber-frame building on Boulevard Auriol in Paris. 

Developments in the timber construction sector 

In 2020, the way we think about buildings will evolve. The goal? To limit CO2 emissions.  

While RT 2012 values the performance of insulation as the main element of the performance of the construction system, the ecological regulation (RE) of 2020 goes further by placing the carbon footprint and the energy consumption of the building as main elements:
