Installation of Promat fire protection at the Drouot Richelieu Auction House

To ensure the regulatory fire insulation of the Drouot Richelieu Auction House, Promat - Systemglass EI 90 glazing and the EMV Horizon partition were combined for the first time. The combination of these two technologies made it possible to combine both aesthetics and security.

Dedicated to public auctions, the Hôtel des Ventes Drouot Richelieu is the first site in France to have selected the combination of Promat-SYSTEMGLAS EI 90 glazing (according to European report Efectis 07-A-362)andpartition EMV HORIZON type (according to P-.V Efectis 10-A-344) from the BOULLET Workshopsdue to the perfect outcome of a system combining aesthetic qualities and safety features.

The aim was to meet rigorous specifications in terms of fire risk and demanding aesthetics, in order to create a fire separation lasting 1 hours between the public spaces and the administrative services of the site.

This unprecedented operation consisted of ensuring thefire insulation regulatory, maintaining the visibility of the R+2 corridor on the central space of the R+1. Made entirely to measure, the 42 mm thick bay window is made up of a series of 1,40 X 1,40 meter panes over a length of approximately 15 meters. It is installed on an existing sill requiring no joint cover, no frame, no upright, no intermediate crosspiece, a major originality of the Promat®-SYSTEMGLAS which is assembled using a specific silicone. This particularity contributes to the aesthetic quality due to the perfectly transparent partition rendering.

Only a thin 80 mm peripheral profile in thermo-lacquered aluminum holds the whole thing together. It encases and maintains the entire glass partition, promoting maximum daylight which ideally makes room for a real architectural perspective.

The installation of Promat®-SYSTEMGLAS EI 90 at the Hôtel des Ventes Drouot-Richelieu proves that, as part of a quality redevelopment, the most recent construction and preventive technologies can be perfectly integrated into an existing building while meeting architectural requirements.
