Intersolar 2012: Trina Solar presents its Honey Ultra technology

Maximum module efficiency: Honey Ultra - the second generation of the technology, which sets a world record for electricity production

Honey Ultra, the second generation of Trina Solar's Honey technology, embodies the company's expertise and has set a new world record for power generation using polycrystalline modules. A standard Honey Ultra module (1650x992mm) reached a peak output of 284,7 watts in May 2012, a performance confirmed by TÜV Rheinland.

The increased efficiency is achieved through the Honey cell's typical texture and narrower busbars and contacts, which increase the active surface area. The cell's reduced reflection increases light absorption. In addition, a highly reflective metal foil is used. Honey Ultra offers superior performance in low-light and high-temperature conditions. Trina Solar guarantees its products for 10 years and consistent performance for 25 years. Honey Ultra will be commercially available in early 2013.

The power classes of the first-generation Honey PC05A and PC14A modules have now been updated. The universal PC05A module with 60 cells delivers up to 265 watts peak, while the PC14A with 72 photovoltaic cells produces peaks of 310 watts.

New solutions: Trinasmart power optimizer and online services for Trinamount

Trina Solar reduces system costs not only by offering high-efficiency photovoltaic modules but also by providing innovative solutions. The company is showcasing Trinasmart, its power optimization and control solution, for the first time at Intersolar. Trinasmart's intelligent technology is integrated into the module's junction box (PC05A.20 Honey). Trinasmart does not require wiring an additional module, works with any inverter, and allows monitoring and control of the photovoltaic panel at the module level. System production in the event of shade and different module performances within the same series is improved by up to 20%. System performance can be monitored and controlled in real time using the Trinasmart web platform. With a smartphone or computer connected to the internet, users have access to all data. In addition, Trinasmart improves the security of photovoltaic systems. In the event of a system interruption (due to an electric arc, for example), Trinasmart automatically shuts down the affected modules. In addition, in the event of an external fire, the modules can be shut down via the remote control. Trinasmart will be available on the French market in September 2012.

Trinamount, the innovative mounting system, now offers an online design tool in German and English for Trinamount I and II ( www.trinamount-design.com ). With this tool, you can quickly and easily plan and visualize a Trinamount-based photovoltaic system. The online design tool automatically calculates which Trinamount components are needed for the installation.

Customers wishing to use Trinamount III register their data and send it to Trina Solar along with photos of the installation site. In return, they receive a customized plan with all the specifications.
