From September 19 to 21, 2025, UNICEM orchestrated the national edition of "Behind the Scenes of Minerals," mobilizing its members across the country for three days of exceptional opening. Quarries, concrete plants, recycling platforms... Nearly 13,300 visitors—including 590 schoolchildren—passed through the doors of participating sites to discover, up close, a key sector of sustainable development.

These days allowed us to strengthen dialogue between professionals, communities, educational communities and citizens, while promoting the profession's commitments: environmental transition, circular economy, security, local roots, biodiversity, and CSR approaches through the UNICEM Committed Companies Label.

En favorisant le dialogue entre équipes, riverains, communautés éducatives, élus et partenaires, ces rencontres ont atteint leur objectif : répondre aux questions et dissiper les idées reçues.

National mobilization and varied regional dynamics

Each region offered a format adapted to its audiences. In Occitanie, the Saturargues site (34) saw record attendance, with public activities such as mini-motorcycles, zip lines and a small train. In the Grand Est region, these are 2 050 visitors who were welcomed, while in Nouvelle Aquitaine, the sites have accumulated 4 439 visitors, with highlights such as a sound and light show organized on the occasion of the centenary of a member company.

En Auvergne–Rhône–Alpes, these are more than 1,900 visitors and 300 schoolchildren who responded. The educational formats, considered clear and accessible, met with strong interest. Pays de la Loire have favored courses focused on the discovery and biodiversity.
