Summary for decision-makers

The Knauf HydroProof® system has been granted a new Technical Application Document (DTA) validating its use for interior partitions and linings, in addition to its applications for interior and exterior ceilings. HydroProof® BA13 and BA18 plasterboards, available in 12,5 mm and 18 mm thicknesses, now cover a wide range of buildings, including residential buildings, public access buildings (ERP), and premises subject to the French Labor Code, in high-humidity environments.

Certified A+ for indoor air quality, Green Zone, and A2-s1,d0 fire rating, these panels offer enhanced resistance to moisture and mechanical stress. The range includes specific accessories ensuring the durability of the installation, with partitioning performance superior to the competition, and comes with a user guide for professionals working in humid environments.

Knauf HydroProof® plasterboard, combining a specially formulated water-repellent core and a glass veil facing, is designed for very humid environments with specific constraints.

Knauf HydroProof®: the certified solution for partitions and ceilings in demanding humid environments

It is notably used for the construction of exterior ceilings in all types of buildings, or indoors for partitions and ceilings of particularly demanding humid environments ; for example in communal showers and changing rooms, aquatic centers and balneotherapy facilities, or swimming pools and rooms with direct communication with the pool.

Knauf HydroProof®: a new DTA (Technical Approval Document) for interior partitions and linings

Complementing the CSTB DTAs already available for interior and exterior ceiling applications, a brand new DTA now deals with implementation in partitions and counter-partitions, with single or double facing. This new Technical Approval Document (DTA) consolidates Knauf HydroProof®'s position as the benchmark technical solution for designing environments with high humidity., thus further securing the choice of the system by specifiers, designers and large plastering companies, guaranteeing them durable and insurable works.

Available in two thicknesses (12,5 mm and 18 mm), Knauf HydroProof® BA13 and HydroProof® BA18 plasterboards have expanded and certified applications. They are suitable for ceilings, partition walls, and linings in a wide range of buildings, including residential properties, public access buildings (ERP), and buildings subject to the French Labor Code.

Their implementation is now officially validated, both in the private EB+ classified premises, thatEB+ collectives or, EC (excluding areas subject to high-pressure cleaning and grease production).

This classification, defined by the CSTB guidelines (document 3567_V2 of November 2021), therefore attests to the capacity of the Knauf HydroProof® board. to withstand over time to most intense humidity conditions from the most demanding applications : communal showers and changing rooms, aquatic centers and balneotherapy facilities, commercial laundries and launderettes, or swimming pools and premises with direct communication with the pool.

Knauf HydroProof®: a plasterboard with multiple advantages

Easy to cut and implement (10,8 kg/m2 for BA13), the Knauf HydroProof® plasterboard (3000 or 2600 x 1200 mm) is characterized by its high surface hardness, guaranteeing it the mechanical resistance required in the premises concerned. Furthermore, it ensures easier finishing work thanks to its thinned longitudinal edges.. Combining "A+ for indoor air emissions" and "Excell Green Zone" certifications for sensitive environments (food industry), it also displays a fire reaction of A2-s1,d0.

Knauf HydroProof®: more than just a plasterboard, a complete, proven system allowing for cost-effective sizing.

To guarantee the performance and durability of the Knauf HydroProof® system and to contribute to the overall integrity of the structure, Knauf accompanies this certified offering with a full range of specific "hydro" accessoriesThis range of accessories includes numerous references in pivot hangers, adjustable hangers, uprights, rails, furring strips, splices, threaded rods, screws, water-repellent coatings, joint strips…

Another advantage of the 100% Knauf system, according to Nicolas Mergenthaler, Knauf Interior Design Product Manager: "it also allows us to offer a advantageous sizing single-layer partition walls made of Knauf HydroProof® BA13 or BA18 plasterboard. Indeed, the maximum height of a 98/62 partition wall, for example, with single cladding and single studs spaced 0,90 m apart, will be 3,50 m with Knauf HydroProof® BA18 and only 3,30 m with other plasterboards on the French market.

Finally, always keen to provide the best possible support to professionals, Knauf is making available to them a brand new "Guide to choosing interior fittings in humid environments" to help them choose the system best suited to their project.
