Inspired by a Dutch model, the Alzheimer Village, located in Dax (40), aims to improve the quality of life and well-being of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. Organized around a country house offering living spaces and services (media library, hairdressers, mini-market, doctor's office, pharmacy, etc.), it is made up of 4 neighborhoods of 4 households welcoming 120 residents.

The project aims for very high environmental performance, both in terms of energy savings and hygrothermal comfort. For the insulation of the 16 households, glass mineral wool from Knauf Insulation's ECOSE® Technology process was chosen for its performance and environmental qualities. In total, the following materials were implemented:

  • 2 m500 of KI FIT 2 insulation in 035 mm for the insulation of timber frame walls, supplemented by KI FIT 150 glass wool in 035 mm,
  • 7 m000 of KI FIT 2 glass wool in 035 mm for the insulation of traditional frames,
  • 7 m000 of ULTRACOUSTIC insulation in 2 and 45 mm for insulating partitions and false ceilings.
