Knauf Insulation insulates the facades of the new urban center of Rives de l'Orne in Caen
A high-performance and ecological ITE
Comprising housing, offices, hotels, and cinemas spanning over 80 m², the new Rives de l'Orne urban center is the largest project ever completed in the region. In this new neighborhood, the future General Council building has benefited from Knauf Insulation exterior insulation.
A total of 2000 m² of facades were insulated using Knauf Insulation's Façade 2 B glass mineral wool insulation. This external thermal insulation was implemented by Lebailly (Flers).
Knauf Insulation's 032 mm thick Façade 160 B semi-rigid rolled panels were mechanically fixed to a metal frame, which provides a ventilated air gap to evacuate moisture. They were then covered with cladding made of lacquered aluminum cassettes in various colors.
Odorless and pleasant to the touch, Façade 032 B panels unroll easily and offer high thermo-acoustic performance, with a conductivity coefficient (lambda) of 0,032 W/(mK). Environmentally friendly, Knauf Insulation Façade 032 B panels are manufactured using ECOSE® Technology, from renewable or recycled raw materials and a plant-based binder, without formaldehyde, phenol, acrylic, artificial colors or pigments).
