Founded in 1999 by a collaboration of artists, technicians, and decorators who together create atypical performance objects, La Machine Company is behind the famous creations designed for Les Machines de l'Ile de Nantes. The manufacturer of high-end portable power tools has provided the company with a fleet of machines (screwdrivers, vacuum cleaners, sanders, saws, consumables and accessories), the quality of which is particularly appreciated by the company's joiners, carpenters, cabinetmakers, sculptors and electrical engineers. The latest creation made with Festool tools is the Spider, a 3-ton insect with 7,5-meter legs, which joined the Galerie des Machines de l'Ile and its Heron Tree in 2016.
