The Climatdome range: for energy performance in buildings
The Climatdome range from Hexadome, a specialist in comprehensive solutions for lighting and smoke extraction in buildings, provides a real solution for achieving optimal insulation and increasing natural light through roof openings.
Batipôle Editorial
How can we optimally manage and use natural energy sources through roof openings?
Today, building design must necessarily take into account their energy consumption and user comfort, which are major priorities for designers and project owners. The roof is one of the most critical points of a building.
The Climatdome product range
Skylights and Natural Smoke and Heat Evacuation Devices of Climatdome provide decisive technical advantages to achieve the objectives set by the Grenelle Environment Forum and the future Thermal Regulations 2012.
Optimizing insulation, making the most of natural light, limiting the solar factor, and seeking both luminous and thermal comfort—these are the keys to finding tomorrow's solutions. The range Climatdome meets these expectations to build more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient buildings.
ENVIRONMENTAL SMOKE EXTRACTION
Solar factor - natural light - thermal insulation
Climatdome offers designers solutions and tools that help reduce energy consumption while improving the operating conditions of all types of buildings. To correctly size a zenithal natural lighting installation, Climatdome recommends the following approach:
1 - determination of the SLE (Effective Light Surface) required to ensure a minimum average level of lighting of the work surface with an autonomy of more than 50% of natural lighting. This calculation is carried out from the determination of the daylight factor sought for the room,
2 - based on this effective light surface for the entire roof, choose the size of the skylights to ensure good light distribution. A d/h ratio less than or equal to 1.2 is recommended:
d: distance between the centers of two skylights
h: height between the floor and the light exit surface (ceiling height,
3 - Choice of the types of skylights to install according to their thermal performance and
establishment of an overall annual energy assessment of the natural lighting installation:
• artificial lighting savings, expressed in kWh ep (oil equivalent),
• conduction losses through the skylights from the Urc of the skylights, expressed in kwh ep (oil equivalent),
• losses due to air permeability under 4 Pa, expressed in kwh ep (oil equivalent),
• in the case of air-conditioned premises, electricity consumption during summer periods to compensate for solar energy, expressed in kWh ep (oil equivalent).

HEXASTEEL BSL
LIGHT SUNSCREEN
The best compromise between luminous efficiency and reduction of heat exchange
The new HEXASTEEL BSL Luminous Sunshade from the Climatdome range allows you to illuminate all types of buildings in clear or overcast weather. This innovative solution is available for sealed roofs (Steel range) or for renovations (Coif range).
The composition :
• a polycarbonate sheet with a honeycomb structure helps break the direct sunlight, while allowing natural light into the building,
• an air gap creates a thermal barrier,
• light transmission maintained thanks to a 16 mm 7-wall alveolar polycarbonate (PCA), translucent or opal on request.
The advantages of HEXASTEEL BSL:
• removes light spots (no direct radiation),
• sky visible from the ground,
• sound insulation and reduction of impact noise,
• allows you to feel the climatic variations inside the building,
• no need to orient the product on the roof,
• optimizes luminous efficiency.
Certifications:
HEXASTEEL BSL is a solution certified compliant with NF EN 1201-2 and approved for the NF mark
405.
• acoustic insulation: Rw = 21 dB
• impact noise: Lia = 66 db
• fire resistance: Bs1d0 classification
• admitted to 1200 joule resistance tests.
