The Certitherm brand, a benchmark in quality requirements for low-temperature underfloor heating/cooling systems (LTCH), is now extending its standard to all systems available on the French market. Previously limited to systems with a thermal resistance (R-value) of 0.75 (the minimum) or 2.4* (the most common), Certitherm can now be applied to all systems with a thermal resistance between 0.75 and 5.5.
COCHEBAT**, which launched this quality mark five years ago, aims to guarantee a high level of quality for all systems installed in France. While the 2.4 requirement is widespread today in single-family homes, other installations (on ground floors, above cellars, garages, crawl spaces, etc.) require more or less insulating systems.
In its commitment to meeting all the needs of professionals and providing maximum assurance, COCHEBAT incorporates Eu.Bac certified room-by-room temperature control into the Certitherm criteria included in the new certificates issued. These systems thus best meet the requirements of the E+C-*** label.
Certitherm was created ahead of RT2012 to meet the overall energy consumption targets for buildings. Designed to guarantee the performance of the system as a whole, the certificate is based on thermal tests and calculations carried out by independent instructors, based on technical regulations incorporating the requirements of current standards, DTUs, and technical opinions.
The Certithem mark ultimately guarantees the performance of an entire system, which can then be factored into the calculation of a building's overall energy consumption. It also provides manufacturers with an additional guarantee of the quality of the entire hydronic underfloor heating system and its components, ensuring comfort and long-term reliability for users. Nearly 250 certificates have already been issued since its inception.
