GIACOMINI, a specialist in heating valves and domestic water distribution, manufactures and markets the DADO® valve, a high-quality square ball valve suitable for use on water, oil, steam, petroleum product and gaseous fluid circuits.

A unique valve

GIACOMINI designed its DADO® square ball valve to provide a high-quality device for optimal safety. The unique feature of the DADO® valve is the square shape of its ball, which limits the points of continual friction on the round PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) seal, a material with an extremely low coefficient of friction. The combination of the PTFE seal and the square ball gives the DADO® valve seventeen times greater resistance, thus increasing the number of cycles (opening-closing) without affecting its performance.

High-quality design

GIACOMINI has taken the greatest care in the design of its DADO® valve. Unlike conventional valves whose operating shaft mounting system is fixed from the outside (a solution rejected by the safety standards of various countries, particularly for hazardous fluids and domestic gas), the operating shaft of the DADO® valve is fixed from the inside out. Held in place by a special anti-friction gasket (seal), once fixed, the shape of the operating shaft makes it impossible to remove for increased safety.

Robust components

The GIACOMINI DADO® valve is composed of a sealed body in die-cast brass ISO/426/2 chrome-plated and nickel-plated, a hot-forged square sphere in chrome-plated brass, PTFE anti-friction seals ensuring perfect sealing of the valve, an unbreakable steel handle held by a non-removable nut covered with Dacromet (anti-corrosion coating guaranteeing an anti-blocking system of the handle) and thermally insulated. If a fluid

passing through the valve reaches 140°C, the handle insulation reduces the temperature to 60°C allowing the DADO® valve to be operated without special protection.

Seamless traceability

For better quality monitoring, GIACOMINI tests each valve for internal tightness (tightness of the ball and seals) and external tightness (through the valve shaft). DADO® valves are also marked with the GIACOMINI logo, the year and week of manufacture, which ensures perfect traceability over time.

A tailor-made response

GIACOMINI's DADO® valve range also provides tailor-made solutions. It includes a R910W Legionella prevention valve and a R950 gas-specific valve for dispensing combustible gas.

The DADO® R910W valve is a pierced ball valve. This orifice limits the risk of Legionella due to stagnation (a breeding ground for bacteria) by allowing water to flow out of the ball. The orifice also ensures the most complete draining of the valve, reducing the risk of rupture for valves subject to freezing.

As for the R950 gas valve, it is specially designed to serve as a cut-off device in domestic gas distribution networks from 0 to 5 bar.

A complete range The GIACOMINI DADO® valve range consists of handle valves in different colors: green for the prevention of Legionella, yellow for gas distribution networks and red and blue for all other fluids. The last two colors offer the possibility of

distinguish the cold water network from the domestic hot water network.
