CSTB approval evolves for two JACKODUR insulating panels
Reverse thermal insulation for flat roofs

The inverted insulation technique increases the durability of flat roof waterproofing. A technical opinion from the CSTB is recommended for this application. JACKODUR KF 300 Standard insulation panels were previously approved for thicknesses up to 180 mm. They are now approved for thicknesses up to 320 mm. The technical opinion also includes JACKODUR Plus 300 Standard panels up to 200 mm.
The insulation, called "inverted," is placed above the waterproofing material. This protects it from the risk of punctures and accelerated aging. Extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) is the only insulating material approved for this use in France. In addition to its high thermal resistance, extruded polystyrene (XPS) does not deteriorate over time, even in the presence of humidity. Another positive aspect is that it can withstand heavy dynamic or static loads. It is therefore perfectly suited to making roofs usable.
CSTB approval allows for the construction of inaccessible roofs with gravel protection, but also for pedestrian access with slabs on pads or dry-laid slabs or even paved ones. Terraces can also be planted or covered with a garden terrace.
Waterproof nonwoven increases thermal performance
The concrete substrates are supported by laminated timber elements, which expand the range of applications. The use of waterproof JACKODUR WA non-woven fabric between the insulation panels increases the thermal performance of the roof. The new insulation panels are extremely flat thanks to their patented manufacturing method and do not warp, which makes installation easier. JACKON Insulation is the only manufacturer to offer such insulation panels with thicknesses of up to 320 mm.
Key Benefits:
- Protection of the roof's waterproofing ensured,
- Laying a layer up to 320 mm thick,
- Extremely flat panels, even when thick (patented manufacturing)
- Multiple uses: roof accessible to pedestrians, green roof, roof with gravel protection, etc.
- Usable in plain or mountain
- Waterproof nonwoven
