LAYHER, always more services and security

For nearly 30 years, LAYHER has been leveraging its technological leadership to redesign the concept of scaffolding in France, transforming it into increasingly secure systems featuring innovations that simplify users' work. This innovative capacity allows LAYHER to be present on all types of construction sites: construction, finishing work, historic monuments, construction and maintenance of industrial sites, shipyards, aeronautics, shows and events.

LAYHER France in a few figures:

 LAYHER, the essentials

*       The EUROFACADACIER®/EUROFACADALU® system from LAYHER:

With its three main components (frame, railing, and floor), it offers significant safety, speed, and cost-effectiveness. Its ease of assembly and low weight make it the ideal equipment for treating facades. Its scalability also allows it to meet the specific requirements of large facade projects.

A frame made of 40/49 uprights, 2.7 mm thick steel and 4 mm thick aluminum, is combined with various compatible steel and aluminum fittings. The steel elements all benefit from 80 micron thick hot-dip galvanizing for low maintenance and improved appearance over time:

- monolithic guardrails guarantee the rigidity of the scaffolding as well as the safety of users.

- A whole range of self-supporting, non-slip, wind-blocked prefabricated floors are capable of supporting very high overloads.

- Numerous accessories: crossing beams, half-frames, anchors, consoles, clearance gantries, protection for roofers, aluminum flights of stairs, brake rollers, rails, access, plinths, etc.

*    UNIVERSEL® LAYHER material

It consists of a complete system of modular elements, assembled together by keying. It includes:

- Stackable uprights with welded discs every 50 cm, comprising 4 narrow slots and 4 wide slots

- Connecting pieces (braces) and stiffening pieces (diagonals) fitted at each end with captive key jaws which hook onto the discs

- Numerous accessories: plinths, consoles, beams, brake rollers, etc.

- A whole range of self-supporting, non-slip, wind-blocked prefabricated floors which are capable of supporting very high overloads (up to 600 k/m2).

All elements of this scaffolding system are protected by 80 micron thick hot-dip galvanization, a guarantee of longevity.

UNIVERSEL® equipment is suitable for all types of scaffolding: service or façade scaffolding, suspended scaffolding, fixed or rolling towers, decks; regardless of the difficulties associated with the site or the anchoring conditions.

A range for all needs

The breadth of the range lends itself to all configurations and the needs of craftsmen as well as those of major construction companies:

- Universal galvanized steel

- Universal aluminum

- EuroFaçadacier

- EuroFaçadalu

- Covering and traditional umbrellas

- Protect System

- Mobile aluminum towers

- Footbridges

- Accessories (collars, beams, etc.)

- Construction site staircase towers and public staircases in steel and aluminum

The LAYHER service in permanent innovation

By working alongside these multiple sectors, LAYHER faces diverse needs and sometimes very specific demands. The company responds by cultivating proximity and listening to customers, then integrating their needs into its systems and services.

This is how, in partnership with CAPEB and its member craftsmen, LAYHER has developed products and safety elements specifically designed to meet their constraints and challenges. It is also how its design office works to develop unique solutions for highly technical construction sites.

This LAYHER dynamic can be found throughout France, where more than 150 people provide local service to customers, as well as through two specialist subsidiaries: Echafaudage Service for assembly and LAYHER Formation.

Rental is also one of the services that LAYHER focuses on, investing every year to expand its fleet and improve its responsiveness. This fleet is also unique on the market with 35 T of elements spread across the 9 LAYHER agencies across France (the rental fleet has more than doubled in 10 years). LAYHER also has a sales fleet of 2 T available quickly.

Active Safety, a unique LAYHER concept on the market, for total security

LAYHER is the only manufacturer to integrate Active Safety into its systems. This unique concept ingeniously places safety at the heart of scaffolding systems so that both the erector and the user are automatically safe without question.

This translates into several aspects. LAYHER therefore favors the U-beam system with safety joint, the only system that avoids the risk of excess loading.

This safety joint is not integrated into the floor in order to always remain visible and facilitate regulatory checks, unlike competing scaffolding systems which do not guarantee that the anti-lift is operational during the assembly phase.

LAYHER also favors floors with U-beams during assembly because it is safer and more ergonomic to assemble the floors by sliding them onto the wings of the U-beams.

And finally, LAYHER offers unique dimension systems, the only way to guarantee its customers against risks due to mixed use prohibited by the decree of September 1, 2004.

This unique concept transforms security into a facilitator instead of a constraint.

LAYHER will be exhibiting at the

Construction Days in Lyon from April 6 to 8, 2011, stand 166.

The products developed

in partnership with CAPEB

2011:

New LAYHER scaffolding trailer:

easy and safe transport of scaffolding equipment

Compact and multi-functional

Specifically designed for the real needs of craftsmen, the LAYHER scaffolding trailer was designed to optimize the transport and storage of scaffolding but also to protect it from bad weather and theft thanks to its protective tarpaulin which also limits wind resistance during travel.

It allows the storage and towing of the material necessary for 82 m² of facade and can transport up to 625 kg of Eurofaçadalu® material or 850 kg of Eurofaçadacier® LAYHER material.

It saves a lot of time and reduces handling costs, as a single person can load it in 10 minutes. It's a new way of working for craftsmen: safer and more ergonomic.

Furthermore, thanks to separate compartments, each element can be used independently, allowing a piece located in the lower part of the trailer to be unloaded without having to remove those located above. This compartmentalization also allows the craftsman to identify at a glance if he has forgotten any elements since, in this case, their compartment is empty.

The LAYHER scaffolding trailer contributes to construction site safety

With dimensions of 4,5 m long, 2,5 m high, 1,9 m wide and a weight of 350 kg, the LAYHER scaffolding trailer is the most compact on the market and can be easily parked even in parking spaces, along the sidewalk.

Furthermore, the scaffolding elements are neatly stored in their compartments instead of being stored on the sidewalk. There is no longer any scattered material.

Very balanced, the trailer still benefits from a stabilizing stand for maximum safety.

It increases the payload capacity

Another advantage: since companies are limited to transporting 3,5 tonnes, the trailer, which can be towed by a light vehicle requiring only a B licence, increases the transport capacity and payload of the skip whilst reducing CO2 emissions through its compactness.

Variations of the LAYHER Trailer are already being studied: a model compatible with all LAYHER equipment and a 3-axle model, but these studies will be refined during national construction days where artisans can test the product and provide feedback.

Two hanging systems are available: ring or ball.

2009:

The LAYHER lock barrier: Supplying the construction site in complete safety

LAYHER presents the Lock Barrier, a highly innovative system that solves the problem of security on supply receipts.

The only system on the market that truly meets current regulations

The Ecluse Barrier allows employers to comply with regulations stipulating that they must ensure collective protection - wherever possible - of personnel working at height.

Above all, operator safety

The Lock Barrier protects all people working on scaffolding by securing loading or unloading onto the scaffolding.

Easy and light to maneuver, it protects the operator at all stages of supply.

In the closed position, a guardrail is positioned at the edge of the scaffolding and protects users from the risk of falling.

When loading the recipe, the operator stands at the rear of the mesh and tilts the barrier which folds down in front of him, isolating him from the loading area and protecting him from the void.

To access the delivered equipment, simply perform the reverse operation and the bank guardrail, by tilting, returns to its place and its protective function.

The assembly of this element is also carried out in complete safety since a permanent assembly or safety guardrail protects the installer at all times.

The Lock Barrier is available in a mesh width of 2.57m for a collection depth of 2.07m to 3.07m

THE LAYHER BUILDING STIRRUP: maximum protection

for workers moving around on flat roofs and

floor slabs

Regulations require the installation of a guardrail covering the edges of all roofs and slabs. The LAYHER building stirrup offers an optimal response to this requirement, allowing workers to move around roof terraces and floor slabs under construction to do so in complete safety.

Its adaptability is unique on the market

The great originality of the system is linked to its total compatibility with the shape of the slab.

Indeed, with its 90° rotating head, this innovative product can be fixed at the end of slabs, on the roof acroterion upstand or even in corners.

Simple and quick installation

Fully compatible with the LAYHER Universel and Eurofaçadacier® systems, the Building Stirrup is quick and easy to install.

For example, only two elements are necessary for a Eurofaçadacier® installation: the Building Stirrup and the guardrail post.

The Building Stirrup is fixed using a wing nut, then accommodates the guardrail post (standard scaffolding equipment) which is simply assembled onto the stud.

The user can then install the Eurofaçadacier® railings or guardrails (up to a length of 3,07m), a butterfly screw guaranteeing the assembly is locked without additional tools.

The low weight (7kg) of the Building Stirrup makes it an easy tool to handle inside a building.

2007:

The LAYHER Telescopic Stabilizer: It delivers!

 He gains height with flexibility

The Telescopic Stabilizer allows the assembly of scaffolding structures on facades up to 6,2 m without requiring mooring.

This feature makes it easier for plasterers and painters to work without any obstacles or perforations to fill in later.

The Telescopic Stabilizer also provides great flexibility in working because the telescopic length can be adjusted as desired.

 Quick to set up

The stabilizer is quickly and easily connected to the structure using a collar with an integrated key. Its length can be varied according to requirements, and the anti-buckling function is provided by a cross member with keyed collars.

To prevent slipping on the ground, the ball joint plate can be fixed using dowels or two steel nails specifically for topsoil.

Its low total weight (26 kg) also contributes to the speed of installation.

Quickly assembled, quickly folded away

Transport and storage are also made easier because the stabilizer's telescopic tubes slide into each other. Once folded, it measures only 3,2m. The keyed collars then allow any movement to be blocked.

The Telescopic Stabilizer is available in two lengths: 3,2 m and 5 m

2007:

LAYHER Roofing Mesh Protection: the essential!

In accordance with the circular of July 13, 2006 of the Official Bulletin of the Ministry of Employment, Social Cohesion and Housing, LAYHER has developed the Roofer's Mesh Protection which advantageously replaces the fan-shaped scaffolding used until then.

This protection is mounted directly on the scaffolding uprights and acts as both a guardrail and a plinth.

The Roofer's Mesh Protection is available in 1,09m, 1,57m, 2,07m, 2,57m, and 3,07m and is fixed to Universel® LAYHER uprights or in 2,07m, 2,27m, 3,07m on EuroFaçadacier® LAYHER.

In the event of a roof fall, the roofer is held in place by the mesh protection. Anchoring by a row of uprights is required at floor level.

The resistance of the Roofers' Mesh Protection has been the subject of a test report at the CEBTP (Experimental Center for Research and Studies in Building and Public Works) and has been awarded the NF mark.

Career Packs developed in partnership with CAPEB

2004:

Since the signing of a partnership between LAYHER and CAPEB in November 2003, numerous meetings between craftsmen and LAYHER have been organized throughout France: technical days in LAYHER agencies, regional meetings, study days and CAPEB partner fairs.

These meetings were an opportunity for LAYHER to develop tools adapted to these professionals, taking into account their needs, such as roofer protection (mesh guardrails).

To meet the demand of craftsmen, who wish to benefit from simple and easy-to-assemble scaffolding, adapted to their professional activity, but also to comply with the new legislation, LAYHER continues in its approach of personalized solutions by creating “TRADE PACKS” for roofers, masons and painters.

This new concept allows professionals to benefit from complete scaffolding, accessories and assembly assistance, guaranteeing that the equipment is adapted to their sites and that they can work in complete safety.

The Business Packs contribute to improved usability, from storage to assembly. To optimize its Business Packs, LAYHER has integrated WINDEC software, which allows for the management and creation of scaffolding plans and statements.
