The group   A leading global group in electric actuator and control valve solutions for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, BELIMO had an excellent 2010 financial year with a turnover of 426.4 million Swiss francs (343 million euros), an increase of 10,5% compared to the previous financial year, which reached 14,7% taking into account exchange rate fluctuations.   Growth in all markets Growth was strong in all regions, with BELIMO gaining market share thanks to innovative solutions. The strongest growth was generated in Eastern Europe, China, and South America, with rates 20% higher than last year. While this growth in Eastern Europe resulted from the recovery in business after the 2009 crisis, dynamic demand and the Group's extensive market presence were the driving forces in China and South America. Revenue from air conditioning applications increased sharply in 2010, particularly with OEM customers.   European markets quickly recovered from the decline recorded in 2009. Sales in local currencies jumped 15,4%. In addition to Eastern Europe, Germany, England, France, Italy, and Switzerland also made strong contributions.   Innovation
De many innovations The following highlights of the year were noted: * The new generation of spring return actuators was very well received by customers * For hydraulic applications, the electronic pressure-independent control valves with flow sensor (EPIV) launched at the beginning of the year were very successful. * Actuators with decentralized intelligence (BELIMO SL) were put into operation in cooperation with OEM customers. * The use of electronic energy storage systems as an alternative to mechanical spring return solutions has expanded the range of applications for actuators with a safety function.   Outlook for 2011 In 2011, BELIMO will pursue its goal of developing and offering control actuator solutions that provide greater comfort and improved energy efficiency. The range of HVAC control units will be expanded in 2011. Actuators with decentralized intelligence (BELIMO SL) will constitute an additional pillar of growth.   BELIMO Holding AG (BEAN) shares have been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since 1995.     BELIMO France   2010 was also an excellent year for the French subsidiary with a turnover of 8,8 million euros, up 24% compared to 2009, despite a still difficult market. The great success of BELIMO control valves was reflected in major projects and led to a balance of turnover between the hydraulic and aeraulic ranges. …/… Keen to offer reliable, comprehensive and efficient technical solutions in classic HVAC applications, BELIMO France has entered into a partnership with THERMOKON, which allows it to integrate sensors and probes and room controllers as a complement to its range, thus effectively meeting the increasingly technical and global demands of customers. Products using EnOcean® technology – radio communication wireless without battery is destined for brilliant success, particularly for renovation and energy-saving projects. It complements the BELIMO France range for an effective response to increasingly technical and global customer demands. To support these technical developments and sales growth, BELIMO France continues to expand by recruiting three sales managers in 2011.
