ISB Group receives EUTR (European Union Timber Regulation*) certification
The French leader in wood products and solutions, the ISB Group has just received European certification for all of its brands: Silverwood, Sinbpla, Carib and James.
The EUTR, a true sign of recognition for professionals committed tosales supervision andpurchase of wood, aims to'exclusive use of legally harvested wood on the European market.
Committed, involved and mobilized from the very beginning for the protection of the environment, the ISB Group thus pursues a proactive policy of certification and labeling.
As an innovative and responsible company, having had a PEFC™ and then FSC® chain of custody for 10 years and a signatory of the “Le Commerce du Bois” Environmental Charter, the ISB Group wanted to once again demonstrate its exemplary nature. It was therefore only natural that steps were taken as soon as the creation of this Regulation was announced: ISB Group was thus the first French company to be audited in June 2015.
This voluntary approach illustrates the values of the Group and those of its separate entities, namely the excellence of the practices implemented combined with respect for the environment and wood resources.
The Group has taken all necessary steps to ensure full compliance with this Regulation. It has ensured the legality of 100% of its timber, including by conducting audits of certain suppliers representing the majority of its supplies. It has thus demonstrated the legality and traceability of all information concerning its purchases and has implemented a Due Diligence (RD) procedure.
*The Wood Regulations of theEuropean Union n° 995/2010 establishes the obligations of operators of wood and wood-derived products in order to achieve thecomplete elimination of illegal timber on the European market, in particular through the implementation of'a new culture of control and accountability in the private sector. Faced with theThe ban on marketing illegal timber requires operators - importers and European forest operators - to exercise due diligence, that is to say s'ensure the legality of wood and wood products in connection with their supply chain'supply.
