THE NEW ITE SYSTEM COMBINES THE MULTIPOR INSULATION PANEL WITH THE FERMACELL POWERPANEL H2O BOARD
After launching its Ytong Multipor panel dedicated to interior (ITE) and exterior thermal insulation at Batimat 2009, Xella is announcing its new exclusively ITE solution this year.
New solution exclusively for ITE
This complete cladding process consists of a Multipor panel glued to the masonry onto which a wooden or metal frame is screwed.
A FERMACELL Powerpanel H2O board is then fixed to the frame, leaving a 22 mm air gap. The finish is done using a mesh facade plaster coated with mineral paint.
This 100% mineral solution benefits from the advantages of Multipor and FERMACELL Powerpanel H2O boards: thermal performance, impact resistance, water repellency and fire resistance. The system can be used on any masonry substrate, in new construction or renovation, for individual or collective housing, commercial buildings and public buildings.
A CLOTHING PROCESS COMING SOON UNDER TECHNICAL ADVICE
This exterior insulation system (whose name will be revealed at Batimat) is done using cladding, that is, by combining insulation and cladding. The 100% Xella cladding process will soon be subject to CSTB Technical Assessment. It will also soon benefit from reVETIR* classification.

MULTIPOR MINERAL INSULATING PANELS
Multipor is a 100% mineral, fiber-free rigid insulation board made from sand, lime, a hydraulic binder, and water. It emits no VOCs, is fireproof, dimensionally stable, lightweight, compressive-resistant, water-repellent, and permeable to water vapor. Its main characteristics are:
- Thermal conductivity: Lambda of 0,04 W/mk.
- Diffusion of water vapor: µ = 3
- Water absorption: approx. 1 kg/m²h0,5
- Compressive strength > 0,35 N/mm²
- Tensile strength 0,08 N/mm²

FERMACELL POWERPANEL H2O PLATES
The FERMACELL Powerpanel H2O board, manufactured by Fermacell, is a sandwich board that contains a layer of lightweight aggregates bound with cement. It is reinforced on both sides with an alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh. Usually intended for indoor applications in humid environments, it is also successfully used on exterior facades on wood or metal frames. Thanks to its structure, the board gives the facade high impact resistance and limits the risk of cracks reappearing. A guarantee of great ease of maintenance and repair of facades. The FERMACELL Powerpanel H2O board benefits from a European Technical Approval (ETA) and a Technical Opinion from the CSTB.
A HIGHLY FIRE-RESISTANT ITE SYSTEM
Since both Multipor and FERMACELL Powerpanel H2O are non-combustible (A1 classification of building materials according to DIN 13501-1), they make the system a solution perfectly suited to the legislator's concerns to increase the protection of building occupants against fire and toxic gases released in the event of a fire.
CUSTOM-MADE CLOTHING TO MEET ALL CONSTRAINTS
It is intended for the thermal insulation of facades of all types of buildings (new, renovation, rehabilitation) regardless of the support (masonry, concrete formwork, MOB, etc.). It is also compatible with other ITE systems already fixed to the building. The application of the system will be limited to a height of 28 m for masonry supports and to a height corresponding to R+1 for timber-framed buildings.
