The T&G Distribution distribution agency network is expanding

The network of distribution agencies of T&G Distribution, a subsidiary of the Berkem Group, is expanding with the acquisition of the company BALAS MARTINOT, located in Vaux-en-Velin (69).

Founded in 1950, the family business BALAS MARTINOT now specializes in three markets:
- varnishes, lacquers, glues and spraying materials for wood
- liquid paint, powder paint, tinted aerosols and spraying equipment for metal
- glues and spraying equipment for the leather goods and footwear industry

BALAS MARTINOT has a portfolio of just over 3.800 clients and offers its services throughout the Rhône-Alpes region, targeting professionals in all sectors of activity (excluding the construction sector). In 2015, the company generated a turnover of €2.300.000.

The company currently employs a team of 4 people, spread across commercial, technical, administrative, production and logistics missions. 

With the arrival of BALAS MARTINOT, the T&G DISTRIBUTION network is made up of 7 agencies: Vaulx-en-Velin, Rennes, Gap, Toulouse, Chalon-sur-Saône, Tongres (Belgium) and Barcelona (Spain).
It specializes in the supply of protection and preservation products for materials made of wood, metal, glass, plastic as well as small equipment intended for professionals, industrialists and craftsmen, for the transformation or improvement of these materials.
The establishment of the T&G DISTRIBUTION network by the Berkem Group began in 2011, with one aim: to offer reliable service provision, in terms of performance and techniques, and quality support, adapted to its professional clientele.

The integration of BALAS MARTINOT into this network allows T&G DISTRIBUTION to increase its coverage across France and to allow other agencies to benefit from its expertise, particularly that specific to powder coating.
BALAS MARTINOT, for its part, will be able to rely on the integrated services of the Berkem Group such as R&D, purchasing, QSE and regulatory monitoring, IT, logistics, communication/marketing.

“The BALAS company was founded in 1950. At that time, the business was exclusively based on the sale of wood glues.
Gradually, the offer was expanded with paints, varnishes, lacquers, abrasives and turned towards materials other than wood, such as metal.
The acquisition in 1989 of the company MARTINOT, a specialist in "technical grinding wheels", brought the second part to the name of the current company.
I joined the company in 1983 as a sales representative. Then in 1990, I took over as sales manager. Today, the company is undergoing a major reorganization, particularly as we want to expand our team of employees. It will be interesting and very motivating to make this a reality with the Berkem Group, within the T&G Distribution distribution network.
