The digital metamorphosis of the SNFPSA, a long-term strategy
With 2015 focused on “business” expertise, the SNFPSA has decided to embrace the digital age and is dedicating 2016 to the deployment of several new tools and services.
Aware that digital technology is a formidable vector for information, communication, and training, the SNFPSA is taking its future into its own hands, determined to ensure a high level of service to the profession. Starting this year, each group will offer a brand new digital tool or online service, dedicated exclusively to current and future members.
Digital: faster, simpler, more relevant
A mobile application "Norm&youS", a real treasure trove'informations
The SNFPSA's "Portes et portails" group has chosen to provide its members with technical, normative, and regulatory expertise as close to the field as possible. To achieve this, it has developed a specific application in partnership with the innovative French company MobileR2D2 (specializing in the publication of scalable, cost-effective mobile solutions). "Norm&vouS" thus combines three paper guides into a single, easily connectable database, with or without the Internet.
Intended for technicians, salespeople and technical sales representatives, “Norm&vouS”, available on smartphones, tablets and computers since March 8, 2016, explains and provides, through precise diagrams, the normative and regulatory requirements applicable to doors and gates according to their installation location and their type of control. Simply click to access in real time either a library, including technical data sheets for doors and gates, maintenance sheets (coming soon), or an ABC, or news concerning current events and regulatory and normative developments. Reserved for union members and scalable according to their needs, “Norm&vouS” is also affordable (€2/month).
A guide to'assessment of the quality of the shutters, so that professionalism is the'major asset
In order to provide a reliable and rigorous response, the “Roller Shutters” and “Hinged Shutters” groups have published a guide that allows for the evaluation of the non-standard characteristics of shutters (hinged, sliding, rolling, etc.) intended for the construction industry according to their installation location (zone - climate) and the shutter materials. Better still: this guide, downloadable from the SNFPSA website, is an ally in everyday life to help with decision-making on the acceptability criteria for shutters that can be used in the field by a professional. Everything is scrutinized: aesthetic factors (undulation and bulging of the roller shutter apron, color difference between aprons and slats), criteria for concealment (roller shutters, flat closures), wear (traces), noise (generated by operation, wind, motorization, transmission of noise to the building), humidity (condensation/mold, special case of frost or snow, special case of humidity on crank rods), appearance (lacquering), maintenance (PVC, aluminum, wood shutters).
Three safety data sheets for automatic pedestrian doors to protect users
Dedicated to installers of motorized swing, revolving and sliding pedestrian doors, members of the SNFPSA, three safety data sheets concerning the necessary clearance zones around automatic doors have been produced by the union's "Automatic Pedestrian Doors" group (which must comply with the NF EN 16005 standard of December 2012). The objective: to reduce the risk of accidents (strike, crush, shear or drag zones in the immediate vicinity of such doors) and to provide professionals with the same interpretation of the standard:
• Form “Protection of the pushback zones of motorized swing door units for pedestrians" when opening and closing swing doors: establishment of safety distances, protection zones, protection of hinges and huts, protection by presence detection or low energy.
• Form “Protection of the pushback zones of motorized sliding door units for pedestrians" when opening and closing sliding doors: creation of passage areas, installation of infrared presence detectors, protection by safety distance, by a protective leaf, by presence detection.
• Form “Protection of the sweeping areas of motorized revolving door blocks for pedestrians" when rotating the door leaves: respect several safety distances, installation of protective elements (electronic device allowing force limitation, presence detector not authorizing contact, switching device specific to disengageable leaves, control devices equipped with emergency stop, slowdown and evacuation button).
L'year of communication for the SNFPSA: launch of'a first motion design video
Motion design, a contemporary visual art form, is also a solution adopted by the "Portes Automatiques Pédériennes" group to better communicate with clients and customers. A driving force behind the SNFPSA's strategy to increase visibility and build its visual identity, the "Portes Automatiques Pédériennes" group has produced a tailor-made film about product safety. A "first" that will undoubtedly inspire emulation among other groups. To be continued...
A platform of'e-learning, "B.Metal Training", to train and'inform
Developing a new market, upskilling employees, improving the quality of services...: all bay and metal professionals are concerned by the brand new training platform developed in partnership with the Metalwork Group (which brings together the SNFPSA, the Union of Metalworkers, the SFECE, the Union of Lifting Assembly and the Professional Chamber of Metalwork and Locksmithing of Greater Paris) of the French Building Federation (FFB).
On the program: digitalized technical content in a fun “à la carte” format, to train, inform, exchange and self-assess knowledge. With a single click, each manager or employee chooses the online training module, the training quiz (short duration, etc.). A certificate is issued at the end of a sequence for a score higher than
85%. The catalog and price list for members are available on the website. www.bmetalformation.frwhere you can register at any time. Another innovative solution: scan the QR code on the flyer, and the entire web platform opens!
