Knauf Insulation's RT Plus system insulates a house in Essonne

To expand their living space, the owners of a 90 m² house located in La Ferté Alais in Essonne (2) called on the company Agrandir Processus Harnois®, which extended the surface area by an additional 91 m². For the insulation of the converted attic, they chose the RT Plus system from Knauf Insulation.

The RT Plus system combines glass mineral wool insulation and a vapor barrier. This solution allows for the insulation and air and water vapor sealing of converted attics in a minimum of time.

To thermally insulate the attic of the house, the professionals installed two layers of Knauf Insulation glass mineral wool insulation with a lambda of 32 mW/mK:

• a 032 mm thick layer of KI Fit 60 wool,
• a 160 mm layer of the RT Plus system.

This represents a thickness of 220 mm of insulation in total, allowing the new attic space to achieve excellent thermal insulation performance (6,85 m2.K/W), as well as perfect air and water vapour tightness.
