ACTIV WORKS

From specialist distribution to the profession of works broker

A 28-year-old Romain Le Jeune left specialist distribution to start his own business. He is bringing this project to fruition with Activ Travaux, a national brand that brings together 90 construction brokers and more than 3.000 housing and construction professionals.
After graduating from ESC Tours, Romain started as a carpentry and tiling sector manager at Leroy Merlin. Wanting to start his own business, he was looking for an idea that would allow him to put his management skills and knowledge of construction to good use.

The experience of Hervé Souchet (a former Leroy Merlin employee who joined the Activ Travaux network in spring 2010) made him want to delve deeper into the subject.
The notion of service and the team spirit that reigns at Activ Travaux immediately appealed to him: “ I found myself in this concept, in meeting with clients and in the support intended to simplify each phase of their project. This mission of work facilitator convinced me, coming myself from a universe where I was in contact with consumers and professionals »

Professionals to simplify the work

Recognized for its professionalism, the Activ Travaux agency based in Cesson-Sévigné works with 100 craftsmen and other construction professionals. Working in complete synergy with his seven colleagues, Romain Le Jeune puts his carpentry skills to work for their clients. He also strives to select companies with cutting-edge expertise to offer consumers different construction, insulation, and decorating options.
« Activ Travaux' strength lies in knowing how to pool expertise and quickly offer a client the best solution. " Romain emphasizes. " By working with referenced craftsmen, who are used to working together, we save time on quotes, the duration of work, we control the quality and therefore customer satisfaction. »

Romain receives a rather warm welcome. Individuals seem to have integrated construction brokers into their consumer habits.
« People are happy to meet someone who can gather quotes from several trades without having to travel and call 50 different people. What's more, we're here to help them think things through and connect them with professionals who can meet their needs. Tradespeople who already know Activ Travaux feel completely confident. »

Managing your projects throughout the seasons

This summer, the trend was towards bathroom and kitchen renovations, small and large extensions, terraces...
In the middle of August, a private individual " loose » by his craftsman in his project of fitting out a wooden terrace called on the services of Romain. In one week, we built his terrace, he had no idea it would be possible... »

Winter will be a good time for interior work and projects related to the Eco PTZ (zero-interest loan), which should be completed before the big cold snap, of course...
« For comfort reasons, those who want to renovate their woodwork should do so before the end of October. Changing your windows in the middle of winter means leaving your house completely exposed to the air for two or three days. »
A good tip: for concrete slabs or facade renovations (technically impossible to carry out if it is freezing), " November, December and January should be avoided at all costs in case of extreme cold " says Romain Le Jeune.

Good to know: the Activ Travaux service is free and without obligation because it is entirely covered by the craftsmen who “win” the projects.
