Knauf Insulation mineral wool insulates the homes of Artisans de l'Elorn

High-performance insulation by blowing and insufflation

Since 2008, Breton company Qualiconfort, a specialist in blown-in and blown-in insulation for new builds and renovations, has insulated more than 250 single-family homes owned by Les Artisans de l'Elorn. To ensure high-performance insulation and provide comfort and energy savings to future homeowners, Qualiconfort has chosen two solutions from Knauf Insulation.

For the thermo-acoustic insulation of peripheral linings and roof slopes, Qualiconfort has opted for blown-in wool Supafil Cavity Wall 034With a lambda of 0,034 W/mK, this mineral wool is specially designed for high-performance insulation of double-walled cavity walls in new and renovated buildings.

In the attic, thermal and acoustic insulation was achieved by blowing mineral wool. Supafil Loft 045 (lambda 0,045 W/mK) specially adapted for high-performance insulation of unused attics in new builds and renovations.

Both Knauf Insulation solutions successfully passed the air permeability test with an air permeability of the envelope under 4 Pa of 0,24-0,22 m3/(h.m2), up to 3 times lower than the standard set by the decree of October 26, 2010 (Q4Pa-surf less than or equal to 0,60 m3/(h.m2)).

Beyond the raw figures, the insulation's performance is verified on a daily basis with a feeling of comfort reported by the owners questioned, who also noted a reduction in their energy consumption, and therefore in their bills.

Environmentally friendly, Knauf Insulation mineral wools are produced from recycled glass and sand. Once installed, they save 50 times more energy than they require for their production. Thanks to their FDES, Knauf Insulation mineral wools perfectly meet the requirements of an HQE project. Finally, by reducing energy use for heating, they contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Knauf Insulation is the first insulation company in the world to receive the "Indoor Air Comfort Gold" certificate from Eurofins for its latest generation of mineral glass wools.
