Lignotrend: acoustic panels for Vauban high school
Reception and teaching areas, library, gymnasium and sports hall, cafeteria, daycare, and neighborhood meeting room: the Vauban high school campus offers a wide range of facilities. Some 2 students and 300 teachers use it every day.
LUXEMBOURG: real wood, the new visual identity of the Vauban school complex
Inside the building, AADC architects focused on a striking visual impact with knot-free, high-quality white fir slats. On site, it was not necessary to install the slats individually. Instead, they were delivered directly by Lignotrend in large-format panels with integrated natural wood fiber absorbers. This system creates a visually striking architecture while also optimizing interior acoustics. This material alone significantly improves the indoor climate compared to a construction typically dominated by concrete.
Larger areas, in the classrooms and the foyer, have also been fitted with real wood cladding on the walls and ceilings. In accordance with the standards for public institutions, the panels Ligno Acoustic Light also meet all flame resistance criteria. The visual identity based on wooden slats is finally continued in the sports area. The energy-absorbing impact walls have been equipped with the robust version Ligno Acoustic Sport.
