Innovation and sustainable development in construction rewarded

For the second time, the SABINE trophies, chaired by the Director of ARCAD, Frederic Sailly, were awarded to construction companies that have distinguished themselves in innovation and sustainable development. A total of six winners were presented in as many different categories, ranging from exterior design to equipment and tools.

SABINE Trophies - Caisse des Dépôts High-performing companies in terms of innovation and sustainable development



Organized on the occasion of the trade fair which recently took place in Reims from February 3rd to 5th, the second edition of the SABINE Trophies rewarded the most successful companies in terms of innovation and sustainable development in construction.

Chaired by Mr. Frédéric SAILLY, Director of ARCAD, Regional Agency for Sustainable Construction and Development, the jury composed of Mr. Vincent STEINMETZ, Director of CARINNA, Research and Innovation in Champagne Ardenne, Mr. Jérôme DUCUING, Director of Economic Development, Champagne Ardenne Regional Council, Mr. Pascal GRAINDORGE, President of the Association of Construction Journalists, distinguished, by specialty, the

following winners:



. Outdoor development: NICOLL (Cholet, 49) for the WATERLOC® solution which allows the creation of underground modular basins for rainwater management. These modules have the advantage of fitting together to facilitate transport and stacking to create the necessary water storage volumes. They are installed under roads, sidewalks, verges and green spaces.



. Envelope: UNIDEK France (from Olen, Belgium) for its range of AERO self-supporting sandwich panels for sloping roofs. Made to measure and available in various thicknesses (up to an R of 7,1 m2. K/W), they reduce construction site waste and allow for rapid installation.



. Structural work and structure: TD STRUCTURE (Charleville, 08) for its thermally insulating vertical concrete wall formwork system. These lightweight products, with concrete applied by spraying, do not tire operators and are suitable for small construction sites without cranes.

. Interior Design: FORBO SARLINO SAS (Reims, 51) for its SARLON TECH Sparkling synthetic flexible floor covering intended for hospitals. The OVERCLEAN+ surface treatment is resistant to Betadine and Eosin. The surface layer contains silver ions which treat bacterial proliferation and nosocomial infections.



Technical Equipment: WATERPRO (Liège) for its system for reusing shower and bath water in toilets. The support frame is equipped with a 180-litre tank that filters and treats the water. This system saves a third of household water consumption.

Engineering, Design Offices and Services: GUEUDET (Reims, 51) for the Renault Trucks Maxity electric van, 550 kg lighter than its diesel equivalent, quiet and economical.



. Equipment and Tools: the company ENVIRO PLUS (Dormans, 51) for its two paint roller cleaning machines, Rollers Cleaner RC1B and RCi2, which use a 100% biodegradable plant-based cleaner and produce a dry residue intended for landfill.



The winners received a magnificent SABINE trophy created by the Compagnons du Devoir.
