For the insulation of its "Smart House" laboratory house, inaugurated last October at the Bostik Smart Technology Centre (Oise, 50 km from Paris), the Arkema group chose the JACKODUR Atlas system from JACKON Insulation. This 160 m² house, spread over two levels, was built to test, validate, and develop new solutions and innovative materials for sustainable construction.
A high-energy performance laboratory house
The "Smart House" project offers a real-world glimpse of sustainable construction by 2030. This laboratory house allows researchers from the Arkema group and its partners—scientists, businesses, and universities—to develop a comprehensive R&D approach to imagine future innovations related to the four major themes of housing: environment, energy efficiency, comfort, and health.
Entirely dedicated to research, this structure virtually replicates the behavior of a typical family. Directly opposite, a showroom allows visitors to observe the house's activities and showcases its expertise. Innovative materials dedicated to sustainable construction are thus accessible to visitors, clients, and partners. This construction is a representation of the house of tomorrow. It will allow us to better understand how it works. ", explains Olivier Lebrun, head of the "Smart House" project at Bostik (Arkema group).
JACKODUR insulates the floor and the building foundations
In this house, 300 mm thick JACKODUR KF 320 insulation was installed between the concrete slab and the ground. We chose JACKODUR KF 300 for its exceptional insulating properties and speed of installation " continues Olivier Lebrun. " The major challenge was to optimize the energy performance of the Smart House. Thanks to JACKON Insulation's insulating panels, we found the ideal material for the construction of this laboratory house. ».
Durable insulation without thermal bridges
The JACKODUR Atlas thermal insulation and formwork system has been specially designed for passive and low-energy house slabs. It reliably reduces thermal bridges. The perimeter insulation consists of JACKODUR KF extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) elements, which comply with EN 13164. JACKODUR Insulation is one of the only manufacturers to offer thicknesses up to 320 mm. Its high compressive strength also allows it to withstand significant loads. It is therefore a particularly suitable thermal insulation under slabs.
