Albert Camus Media Library in Vitry-Le-François (51): Successful greening with the Urbanscape system from GreenRoof by Knauf Insulation

To green the roofs of the Albert Camus media library in Vitry-Le-François, the company VERT-tical NORD chose the Urbanscape GreenRoof system from Knauf Insulation for its ease of implementation.

The company VERT-tical NORD, a specialist in urban greening, had to face several challenges regarding the installation of the green roof at the media library: two roofs with a slope of 5 and 8% respectively and a weight constraint; access conditions to the site that made its supply difficult. Thanks to its great lightness and its composition in only three layers, directly delivered to the site in the form of rolls, the Urbanscape GreenRoof extensive greening system was the natural choice. In total, 235 m2 of the Urbanscape GreenRoof system from Knauf Insulation were installed at the Albert Camus media library: 91 m2 on the roof with a slope of 5% and 144 m2 on the one with an 8% slope, and this in less than 5 hours with a team of only two people.

After mechanically fixing the Urbanscape L-Profile gravel guard strips, VERT-tical NORD installed the three successive layers that make up the Urbanscape GreenRoof system: the Urbanscape Drain drainage mat, the Urbanscape GreenRoll rooting support and the Urbanscape Sedum pre-cultivated mat.
