Mutuelle Bleue produces photovoltaic energy

Mutuelle Bleue chose the RHEINZINK-PV SOLAIRE standing seam system combining zinc-titanium and photovoltaic cells for its roof renovation. This new roof provides energy production representing 10% of the building's consumption. This project places Mutuelle Bleue among the first non-industrial sites producing photovoltaic energy in Seine-et-Marne.

Ecological electricity production combined with aesthetic architecture

As part of the renovation of the Mutuelle Bleue administrative headquarters, 306 RHEINZINK-PV SOLAIRE zinc-titanium "prépatinépro slate" trays were installed on the roof using the standing seam technique. This installation represents 350 m2 of amorphous photovoltaic cells on a total surface area of 1700 m2 in RHEINZINK zinc.

“The roof of Mutuelle Bleue was initially made of steel panels. In order to comply with overload regulations, we opted to install a zinc “over-roof”. In addition, to take advantage of the south-facing orientation (35°) of the roof and improve the building’s energy performance, we also chose to integrate amorphous and flexible photovoltaic modules,” explains the architect and project manager, Yossé Haddad. Glued in the factory and representing a total power of 21 kWp, the modules are connected to 6 inverters. The whole is connected to the EDF network, which buys the site’s production. 20 kWh/year should be produced and 000 tons of CO18 emissions/year thus avoided!”

"The main difficulty of this project was to install the roof in random mode to avoid reading the photovoltaic panels as a technical prosthesis grafted to the roof. The random mode and the integration of the photovoltaic cells into the zinc roofing made it possible to respect the particular shape of the building and in particular the cutting and the very specific silhouette of the roof" quotes the architect Project Manager, Yossé Haddad in charge of this renovation.

"The size of the modules helped us both reconcile and play with the geometry of the roof. Each panel has its own connectors, so their installation was possible thanks in particular to extremely precise and meticulous upstream layout planning," explains Alain Barach, who runs the roofing company JEANNIN SA.

Aesthetically, the photovoltaic solutions integrate perfectly with the "prépatinépro slate" zinc-titanium roof, the whole thing fitting harmoniously into the architectural environment of the building.

Rheinzink titanium zinc: environmentally friendly and extraordinarily long-lasting

RHEINZINK titanium zinc is an environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable material. The German Institute for Building and Environment has declared it an environmentally friendly product according to ISO 14025, Type III, after testing it at every stage of its life (extraction, manufacturing, implementation, and recycling).

Furthermore, thanks to its "self-regenerating" capacity resulting from the formation of a natural patina on the surface, the material requires no maintenance. Its natural resistance to bad weather and climatic conditions, whatever the environment, gives it an extraordinary longevity of 80 to 100 years.

RHEINZINK

As the world's leading manufacturer of titanium zinc for construction, the German family group RHEINZINK has achieved the feat of combining technical innovation, ecology, and aesthetics thanks to a manufacturing process that is unique in the world. For over 40 years, RHEINZINK has been developing the quality of its titanium zinc, evolving its appearance and color (pre-weathered pro light and pre-weathered pro slate titanium zinc), and expanding its fields of application: roofing, facades, ornamentation, etc. Today, zinc is suitable for all kinds of bold designs and aesthetics, whether industrial, classic, or modern. Whether they affect roofs, facades, rainwater recovery and drainage systems, or integrated solutions using solar energy.
