Nicolas Daumont's entrepreneurial career praised by the CGPME Rhône-Alpes
Nicolas Daumont, 33, president of the Lyon-based Archipelle Group (Illico Travaux, Camif Habitat, Domireva), has just received the "Most Promising Young Entrepreneur" award from the Rhône-Alpes business world. The CGPME Rhône-Alpes thus salutes the career of a young entrepreneur who serves as an example.
Nicolas Daumont was awarded the "Most Promising Young Entrepreneur" Trophy of the Year by the CGPME of Lyon (General Confederation of Employers of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises), on the occasion of the 5th Fête de l'Entreprise, an event organized on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Espace Double Mixte in Villeurbanne, in the presence of Henri Novelli, Secretary of State for Crafts and SMEs.
The economic decision-makers of Rhône-Alpes thus salute the exemplary career of this young entrepreneur from Lyon who, in the space of 10 years, has built a group that occupies a leading position in the construction sector.
Based in Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'or (Rhône), the Archipelle group - which brings together the Illico Travaux, Camif Habitat and Domireva networks - became the leading French group in 2009 for home improvement, development and renovation work for individuals. It represents a turnover of around 145 million euros excluding VAT in work.
FROM THE CREATION OF THE WORKS BROKERAGE TO THE PURCHASE OF CAMIF HABITAT
In March 2000, at just 23 years old, Nicolas Daumont, a young engineer from the French Institute of Advanced Mechanics (IFMA) in Clermont-Ferrand, created the concept of "work brokerage" and launched the first franchise network in the sector, Illico Travaux.
Ten years later, Illico Travaux has more than 130 construction brokers in France and is expanding internationally. Since 2008, it has been established in Belgium and Portugal through master franchises and has points of sale in Switzerland and Luxembourg.
An interface between building professionals and consumers, Illico Travaux carried out work worth more than 72 million euros in 2008 and more than 70.000 people in France have already called on it to select service providers capable of carrying out their renovation projects.
In 2007, Nicolas Daumont created Domireva, a unique concept aimed at uniting construction companies under one banner, while preserving their independence.
The Domireva network aims to bring together medium-sized construction companies from all sectors of the finishing work under one banner, in order to enable them to optimize their development by offering them commercial support and giving them access to high-performance management and administration techniques.
In April 2009, Archipelle acquired the Niort-based company Camif Habitat, a leader in turnkey home renovations. The company has completed more than 50.000 projects since its founding in 1982.
Drawing on a network of professionals comprising more than 300 project managers and 3.000 construction companies, Camif Habitat offers individuals turnkey management of home improvement, renovation, and extension projects, as well as various diagnostic services. The company is also particularly innovative in the field of sustainable renovation.
In 2008, Camif Habitat achieved a turnover of 73,5 million euros excluding tax (80% in renovation, 20% in development).
Nicolas Daumont is also President and co-founder of the FFCT (French Federation of Works Brokerage), the interface between works brokerage professionals and public authorities.
