New Hörmann BiSecur app to control and operate entrance doors, gates, garage doors and lighting from anywhere in the world!

In 2011, Hörmann launched its new BiSecur radio system, designed in collaboration with cryptology specialists at Ruhr University in Bochum. They have thus applied the encryption used for particularly sensitive applications, such as online banking services, to Hörmann's technology. In addition to safety, this system also has a major advantage in terms of user comfort. At the push of a button, the transmitter's LED display indicates whether the garage door or gate is open or properly closed, all effortlessly, without eye contact and from anywhere in the world. The installation can then be closed at the touch of a button, without having to move or leave in bad weather for example.

In addition to combining these two essential aspects of safety and comfort of use, the new BiSecur app for smartphones and tablets can also be used from all over the world. The application displays the position of the garage door or gate, regardless of the user's location: at home, at work or on vacation. If necessary, a simple press of a button is enough to close the door in question. The app can also be used to control garage lighting or outdoor light sources. This application can be used from anywhere, simply by connecting the Hörmann “BiSecur Gateway” to the box and registering for free on the Internet. The system is compatible with many Hörmann products, such as the SupraMatic and ProMatic garage door operators as well as the RotaMatic and LineaMatic gate operators.

This intelligent control also applies to Hörmann ThermoSafe and ThermoCarbon aluminum entrance doors. With the optional S5/S7 Funk locks, the doors lock automatically once closed. The BiSecur app indicates the status of the door, including whether it is properly locked or still open. In addition, the additional “Permanently Open” function can be activated or deactivated. This function allows a door to be opened from the outside for a specific period of time, all without the need for a key. For example, it is easy to grant access to your home

to the nurse or a housekeeper. After their visit, the “Permanent Open” function can be deactivated again.

The “Scenario” function offered by the app can be useful if certain situations are repeated every day: going home, going through the gate, opening the garage door, etc. This function allows you to perform all these actions automatically, with a simple press of a button, and without having to select them one by one. The app can be configured for up to 10 users with different permissions. A neighbor can, for example, open the gate to water the garden during the holidays, but he cannot open the garage.
