When fixing bathroom or kitchen shelves, wall cabinets, towel racks, shower enclosures, mirrors, soap dishes, shower curtains, etc. in humid areas, it is essential to ensure the waterproofing of the drill hole to avoid water infiltration, humidity or mold that could damage structural elements (wall, insulation, etc.). Until now, to ensure the proper sealing of drill holes, the use of silicone was necessary. But this temporary solution had to be renewed often and was not compliant with the DIN 18534 standard, which regulates the waterproofing of floors and walls in interior rooms.

To secure all these bathroom and kitchen elements, fischer, always at the forefront of innovation, is launching a new nylon anchor with a sealing function in the DUOLINE range: the DuoSeal. This multi-component anchor for all building materials has the special feature of making the drill hole completely waterproof, without the need for additional sealant. This prevents mold and moisture from reaching the building material while simultaneously ensuring a secure hold. In addition, the watertightness of the DuoSeal has been proven on the basis of ETAG 022 and DIN 18534.

fischer DUOLINE: The two-material range

The high-quality fischer DUOLINE anchors are easily identifiable by their red and gray colors. DuoPower, DuoTec, DuoBlade, DuoXpand, and DuoSeal anchors are made from a combination of soft and hard materials. The proven operating principles, combined with the combination of two materials, ensure optimal anchoring with significantly higher performance than traditional nylon anchors in terms of load capacity and safety.

A secure and waterproof attachment

The new fischer DuoSeal fixing is ideal for tiled or earthenware surfaces exposed to water splashes very frequent or temporary accumulations of water such as the bathroom, kitchen, toilets... Universal, this anchor adapts to all materials : uncracked concrete, solid brick, perforated brick, panel building materials...

The DuoSeal consists of a dowel with a bi-material body and a stainless steel screw with TX imprint, perfect for wet areas. The special geometry of the screw barrel (0) is smooth to ensure the sealing of the drill hole.

As for the dowel, its high-quality red nylon component (1) automatically adapts to the support (expands, unfolds, forms a knot) whether solid, hollow or plate. The flexible gray expansion zone (2) is pressed against the wall when the screw is inserted and completely closes the drill hole. It provides additional security.

The rings (3) on the body of the anchor compensate for irregularities in drilling, so that the sealing function is guaranteed even if the hole is not perfect.

The collar (4) prevents the dowel from passing through the drill hole and ensures the sealing of the fixing.

The fins (5) provide an anti-rotation function for correct implementation.

Waterproofing in accordance with European and German standards

The watertightness of the fischer DuoSeal is certified in accordance with ETAG 022 and DIN 18534 up to water exposure class W3-I (surfaces highly exposed to water).

The ETAG 022 standard certifies the product's watertightness against permanent splashes of hot or cold water.
As for the waterproofing standard DIN 18534, it regulates the waterproofing of floors and walls in interior rooms. It distinguishes 4 classes of exposure to water: W0-I (surfaces with little exposure to water), W1-I (surfaces with moderate exposure to water), W2-I (surfaces with high exposure to water), W3-I (surfaces with high exposure to water).

Whether in the shower, around the sink or near water - the DuoSeal anchor is permanently waterproof.

Ultra-simple attachment

The DuoSeal is quickly inserted into the borehole by simply pushing it in, without any additional accessories, sealant or silicone.
It seals the drill hole over the entire surface and keeps the back wall dry.

The DuoSeal is available in 6 x 38 mm diameter and 8 x 48 mm diameter, and supplied with A2 stainless steel screws.
